For those that missed it...

Throwing jabs and not following up.

He didn't press at all. He threw a jab and waited for Pacquai to charge before trying to pick him off.

Mayweather had no interest in the KO. For about 30 seconds in the 11th he looked interested

It was insanely dull.

I've not yet watched the fight but look at it from Mayweather's perspective, why would he go for a KO when he's comfortably winning the fight. He's knows the way to win at this sport so he does what he needs to and if memory serves he's stated before that he's not interested in making it a spectacle - he'll do what he needs to in order to win and he's superb at doing just that with no more and no less effort expended than needed. It doesn't always make for interesting fights but on a technical level you can't help but respect his skills, he makes it look easy and makes good (or even great) fighters look pretty average.

He doesn't seem to be a particularly nice guy (domestic abuse and gratuitous consumption being two of his well lamented failings) but it is perfectly possible that a lot of what he does and says in the run up to a fight is showmanship - he's the bad guy to sell the fight and generate interest (possibly it also comes naturally although after fights he's almost always gracious about his opponent). As you point out though his fights can appear dull if you want action so it's the hype that he can generate which sells a fight - more "exciting" or explosive fighters might find it easier to get the public interested but he's just finished the most expensive fight in boxing history and got millions of people to watch what was by most accounts a technical masterclass in boxing. There have been many technically great boxers but few have marketed themselves quite so well.

I don't know why people try and take this kind of victory away from MW, he's not there to stand on the spot and take a pounding, staying on his toes and dodging flurries doesn't make him any less of a great fighter, it actually makes him a superb fighter. He actually controlled the ring and dictated the entire fight to get the win, if that's not being a superb fighter/boxer I don't know what is.

Yup, I see what he did as another master class. There should be ZERO focus on Mayweather not standing toe to toe, the entire focus should be on that Pacman utterly failed to make Mayweather fight the fight he wanted. Pacman failed, simple as that.

Hell Mayweather did in deed stand still on 4-5 occasions, covered up and basically said to Pacman, have a go... Pacman did... he achieved nothing. A guy standing still waiting to be hit and he hit his arms, it was embarrassing. His lower abs, ribs, all exposed, he could have potentially got a couple hooks in to the head, instead he wailed on his arms for a bit then backed off.

Honestly if one fighter stands still against the ropes and the other guy can't get a single power punch to the body or head.... people hate Mayweather and love Pacman... which means with a crap fight people choose to blame Mayweather rather than Pacman.

One fighter failed to show up, the other was at the top of his game, you can't blame the best fighter for fighting superbly, it's nuts.

It's like watching Barca win 8-0 yesterday and saying.... but they didn't even concede, what a bunch of *****.

When Arsenal got thrashed by Chelsea last year no one blamed Chelsea, we (including almost every Arsenal fan) blamed Arsenal for being pathetic on the day. Pacman has put in plenty of great performances(as have Arsenal) but that doesn't change the fact that Pacman was the reason the fight was unexciting and completely one sided.

Love him or hate him i think Floyd Mayweather is unbeatable , saying that no one is unbeatable , it going to take someone special to beat him
Not sure why Floyd Mayweather really wants to carry on , he does not need the money unless he is going for Rocky Marciano record

Judging by what he was saying it sounded like he was contracted for another fight for showtime.

I'm not falling for any more hyped matches. Floyd Runweather and his power hugs and Manny throwing punches like he had a limited amount of them.
Fair play to Floyd in post match interview, praised Manny and seemed quite humble but shame on Pacman for what he said.
The sport is nothing anymore.

Manny Pacquiao was **** poor , not sure why he turned up or was it just for the pay day

Because it isn't what people want to see. I have watched boxing for over 30 years and have been privileged to watch some epic fights in that time. I love boxing, so don't start posting crap about not understanding it. No-one can deny MW is probably the best defensive fighter there has ever been, but while effective it is ******* boring to watch. I would rather watch two rounds of two guys going all out, putting everything on the line than watch 12 rounds of evasion. That isn't boxing for me.

Disappointed but not surprised.

Wonder who MWs last fight will be with?
