Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao May 2 MGM Grand Las Vegas

I have witnessed first hand what a grade a **** Amir Khan is and I can't wait to see him get destroyed again. My girlfriend of 6 years grew up round the corner from him and we lived at her place for a few years. He does think is some sort of demigod and very few people seem to have a good word to say about him.

Echo the sentiments about his promoter. Stunning deal to get this sort of fight given his recent record vs anything approaching world level. He looks "chinny" and for me he isnt fighting regularly enough. I guess it will be almost a year since his last fight by the time a match vs Mayweather comes around. Mayweather doesn't punch big but Khan is so easy to hit - I expect him (Khan) to lost inside 6.

Its a win-win for Amir really, lose and people will say they expected it, win and its a huge victory. Either way he gets a huge payday and will move onto more big fights.

That being said, he wont win. Doesnt have the power to trouble MW even if he tags him, doesnt have the speed to avoid everything and doesnt have the chin to take the power MW has developed at 147. Can see it either being stopped in 5 or UD for MW.

^ As above, it's win win for Khan, and pretty much win win for Mayweather too. A good match up in the interests of both parties. No one (including Khan) is expecting Khan to win, that's obviously not the point of this fight.

Khan is easy to sell though, he's good to watch both when he's on form (good speed, throws loads of flurries, lively), and even better to watch when he's being sparked out. Also other boxers won't shy away from him because anyone has a chance of catching him.

Khan does have quick hands but he is quick in a very methodical way and wont be able to land a glove on mayweather. It'll take Mayweather around 2 rounds to work him out after which is he will pick Khan to pieces at will. Well done to khan for getting the fight though!

Dunno if any of you saw Khan in the audience at Wimbledon last year in a footballer's suit, playing with a gold plated iphone with his bored looking wife and her three inches of doll make-up?

I lol'd anyway :D

'Money' Mayweather's a **** too. Hope they double KO each other tbh.

There seem to be a lot of casual boxing fans coming out of the wood works with absolutely no idea about the sport. Floyd will not KO Khan within the first 2-3 rounds, Floyd does not KO anyone within the first 2-3 rounds, that is not how Floyd fights nor has he ever fought like that.

Amir Khan in absolutely no way deserves the fight, this is a fact. There are many fighters out there who have more claim to fighting Mayweather but unless Mayweather fights bigger opponents at higher weight classes, there are very few out there that would trouble him more then Khan. Mayweather would outbox Maidana and Garcia blindfolded, both of those fighters would probably KO Khan within 6 rounds if they fought again, but styles make fights. Mayweather would have never fought anyone as fast as Khan, and Khan would be up against someone who is NOT a big puncher/one punch KO fighter, that is his biggest weakness.

I hope this fight is made because in terms of class, we know Mayweather is leagues ahead but that doesn't mean he would KO Khan within 2-3 rounds. It would be very interesting to see how Mayweather adjusts (which I believe he will) to someone as quick as Khan. It would be extremely boring watching him outbox Garcia or Maidana because he's just done that to Guerrero and Canelo and made it look easy.

Fair points. Maidana is up there because he's incredibly durable, keeps coming at you, and hits hard. Nothing particularly unique or exciting there that would trouble Floyd. Problem for Khan is that as fast as he is, Floyd is no slouch. Maybe not as quick with his hands, but super quick on his feet and ducks and weaves like he's in The Matrix. You're right, Khan in no way deserves this fight (he'll probably make a point about how he beat Maidana so should be ahead, but we all know that Maidana should have beaten Khan), but from both their perspectives, I don't see how this isn't a perfect fight.

Both get a good pay day. Floyd will beat Khan as expected (then he will say he's beaten the guy who beat Maidana/he's beaten the guy they say is the fastest). Khan will have no shame in defeat (losing to the greatest of all time). Nobody loses. The only way anyone will 'lose' is if Floyd actually loses. But that's about as likely as Audley Harrison making another comeback and becoming undisputed heavyweight champ.

Not that I know a huge amount about boxing - but I was gonna comment about that but wasn't quite sure how to frame it - last few fights he has played it ultra defensive - against canelo - canelo was so out matched mayweather "should" have knocked him out by round 6 tops - but mayweather never pressed home the advantage just played it out with a flawless technical display of boxing, could work against him though should he give a fighter long enough in the ring to either work out a way through or just purely get lucky.

(Was one of the most boring fights I've ever watched, when canelo realised he wasn't going to make a statement in the opening rounds he just went into survival mode).

I'm one of those that loved watching Floyd outbox and quite simply dismantle Canelo and Guerrero, he made them look like amateurs. You get to see boxing in it's purest form with Mayweather, it's a delight to watch.

I see Garcia and Maidana as smaller versions of Canelo, any of those 3 against each other would be more interesting because they are all tough and they all come to fight. Mayweather doesn't take any risks in a fight and to be fair, why should he? He wins and does so comfortably, he's almost perfected the art of hitting and not getting hit. Khan in absolutely no way deserves a shot against Mayweather like I said, he has lost 2 of his last 4 fights and he has looked generally poor. I'm not really a big fan of Khan, before he got KO'd by Prescot in 1 round I was always saying he will be exposed soon because his defence is so shocking. I do however believe that Khan has a great set of skills but that he is absolutely thick as **** and doesn't use them to his advantage, hence why he performs so badly.

I would find it more interesting in his next fight to see how Mayweather adjusts to someone like Khan who is quite tall with good range, who is very fast, and who does not simply plod forward.
