*** FM17 thread ***

Just having a quick look. Has anyone got an issue with work permits post brexit? I'm struggling to hire any european players even though Brexit hasn't caused any changes in the system. I'm still playing as Ayr in the Scottish champs but I've just become professional so I can now look at other players. I've had to put the game on hold for now, until this can be explained. It looks like a pretty big bug.

Not anymore. I prefer FM Touch, without the press conferences and other little bits, and the fact that it's quicker to complete a season.

Not got this years version yet as I was burned with last years bad match engine. I might download the demo and give it a try, but I haven't got high hopes.

I haven't gotten to the Brexit part of my game yet so hopefully it won't sting me. I wonder if it's fixed in each game when it'll happen and what the outcome will be.

I might go on holiday for 10 years a few times to see.
 
Approaching brexit time and currently trying to survive the prem as Brentford. Seriously worried it is going to bugger things up for me.

Maybe that's the point.

I've seen Miles comment about Brexit. People are probably so ignorant they've no idea that "silly" things like Football can be adversely affected.
 
Enjoying it so far. Having been out of the series since 2013 (and only playing 16 hours of that) I've taken it 'easy' on myself by trying to save Manchester United. First move was to sell Smalling and Valencia. In come Savic and Danilo.

Enjoying it so far, only played the Community Shield competitively as I've watched the pre-season games closely to get a feel for the tactics. Settled with three at the back and it is going ok so far. Better than it is for Mourinho anyway.

Is this a bug with all beta versions of the game, or just yours? I've just had my Brexit moment but it doesn't kick in for another season. Don't particularly want to play dozens of hours only for it to bug out.

All versions I think. I would ditch the save and start over. Basically what happened to me is I had the brexit, but it was a soft brexit, which implied nothing changed with the work permits. But it didn't work that way due to the bug. So I had to apply for permits for every Euro player no matter where they were from. It was an absolute nightmare. I had to rely on British players past their prime, until it got ridiculous. I couldn't get anywhere due to my position in the league and the fact I was always insecure financially. God help us all if this happens in reality.
