*** FM17 thread ***

Getting Leeds promoted with my attacking tactic aint working in the premiership anymore, i like that. It's just too gung ho and any weakness in my team get fully exploited now. I've got to say regarding tactics, i've got to a stage now where i watch full matches and go with a clean basic tactic and change it as i analyse the opponants, the match engine really does seem to change a nice amount so you actually see the change in play. Still finding it hard coming up with a defensive tactic when i go 2 up though. It's very hard to see out games as the opposition is always changing their strategy. Haven't lost in 9 games now, winning 6 of them

You watch full matches!? I can hardly pay attention to a real 90 minute match :p I think I did it on 2013, the last version I bought, as it obviously doesn't take literally 90 minutes but still. That was only the first 4-5 matches to see how my tactic shaped up.

Badly was the answer, hence me not buying it since!

Sort of yea, the second clock ticks over at twice the speed but i feel the 2d visuals move at a good pace, it's too slow on standard, not realistic for me. Tactics on the fly for the win

I think it's a definite improvement over 16. Let's not forget the steam reviews are of the beta, and it will improve given time. I've been following the beta forum and SI seem very pro-active, which is a good thing. I've had 180 hours in the beta already, and I love it. It's more of challenge overall and this time the tactics definitely work. You can see them working in the match engine, which I think is a first.

Isn't the steam reviews low because of the chinese translation issue and being review bombed because they werent going to do a chinese translation.

The feelings seem to be it's quite an improvement over last year and the best for a long while?

Best version so far, imho. Excellent fun so far. Cannot wait for the full release, I'm staying up to start my 'long term' save tonight :).

Steam reviews are low because of issues with the Chinese translation.

Have to agree, best one "out of the box" I've played in a few years, doesn't seem to be anything majorly buggy and really enjoying it so far!
Nothing like being parachuted in at Christmas and taking a team from 18th in the EPL to snatching 4th place and the Champions League on the last day of the season!

It does feel strange, usually the beta's / early access... well feel like that, unfinished. This year was different, injury issues aside (there are always injury issues, and signing players form higher status clubs issue aside) this has been almost faultless, and felt finished for the last two weeks.

They fixed that in the full version because they are going to allow community translations. The top reviews are people saying that the game didn't change much from 2016 to 2017.
