For shaving the last thing you want is for your skin to be tight. It's the same reasn why you wash your face with hot water, then rinse with cold afterwards.

sorry, i thought you meant afterwards.

Brush and cream for me too. Foam gets my vote in the poll though. Gel's for teenagers to remove a bit of fluff! ;)

Which ever is available. Using hot water and a fusion is fine. However i have only shaved 3 times in the past 2 years i think.

I prefer a leccy shaver

neither - badger hair brush, plus shave cream.
I got a shaving brush for Christmas. The 'cream' that comes with it is fairly crap. It seems to just dissapear after a while and i end up shaving pretty much without it. It says use a pea-sized amount, i end up putting on much more than that. Can you use a brush with gel/foam?

they're doing it wrong.

you're supposed to wet the brush, then swirl it on the block of cream (it should be in a tub or tin of some sort) untill it has nicely saturated the brush (a thick lather). then apply to face and shave.

Neither, I use a mixture of Taylor Sandalwood shaving soap and shaving cream, lathered up in a bowl with a badger hair shaving brush.

Shaving foams and gels or any goo in a can for that matter is pure crap. It dries out your skin and provides no protection from the blade.

A nice clean wet shave in the shower has always done my skin wonders as aposed to anything else, I always get a much smoother shave.
