Foglight Morons

Xenons self level, Halogen dont. Xenons are more obvious to the driver if misaligned (something I am yet to see), Halogen don't i.e. if a policeman cannot tell what hope have other motorists got?

If you had the option of xenons on a new car for the same price as halogens, you guys who are against them would you still opt for halogens?

People just notice it more from Xenons becuase they are cool to hate at the moment.
people notice it more from xenons because they emit a more powerful light, not for any daft unpopularity they may or may not have.

i think the main issue is theres so few police on the roads that no one ever stops them....

safety cameras dont stop idiot drivers on mobiles, or blinding others now does it? hmmmmmm

lol, this thread is truely going no where

It was never going to go anywhere other than a load of people agreeing foglight users are tossers, some people saying they use thier foglights and they arent tossers, someone else mentioning they dislike something else more, a load of people agreeing with that something else, some disagreeing... etc. etc.

I was pottering back down the (clear) M1 late on Tuesday night when I noticed an old shape A4 (*****) behind me with all his fogs on. As he went past he had the rears on too.

Much to my amusement, there was a marked up traffic Volvo estate in the inside lane. As the Audi passed him, on go the blues and twos and I have a good chuckle to myself.

Alas, there was a Fiesta broken down on the inside lane and plod were pulling over to assist them. ***** A4 got away :(

i must congratulate you for managing to crowbar some negative speed camera garbage into a thread that even i thought would be free of them being mentioned.
think about it.
average coppers earnings are circa £24k/year.
so your local force takes on an extra 10 coppers (which would make almost zero difference to traffic problems/issues anyway)..you've just saddled your local force with somewhere around an extra £300k to find per year.
you think that's a realistic solution?

cameras cost relatively little to run.
how many extra coppers do you plan on hiring and, more importantly, where is the extra money coming from?

As per threads 1-33, couldn't give a hoot if people are driving around with front fogs on. Rear fogs in non-foggy conditions are blinding however and incredibly distracting particularly on the motorway.

Indeed. Also I passed a few cars with rear foglights on both sides on the way to London last week. That's really annoying as being on both sides it just looks like they are using their brakes!

spanners who sit in no fog with rear fog lights on do my head in.

flashing them or just leaving full beam on does nothing to indicate to them that they are blinding the hell out of the people behind.

idiots.

Totally agree.

Mine aren't bright enough to blind a person who's been sat in the dark for the past 6 hours and looking through a pair of binoculars. They only ever go on when I need my rear fog because its on the same switch and you get the choice of front fogs only or front and rear... no rear fogs only :(

What does nark me is when people are driving around in the pitch black with sidelights and fogs on.

cameras of ALL KINDS (CCTV, "safety" cameras and alike) do not work.

sure CCTV recorded me getting smashed up at the beginning of the year.... but it didnt see there faces, and no one knows who the hell they was.. If there had been cops patroling that road like there had been 4 years ago it probably wouldnt have happend.

but then who cares what the police do when our jails are full and our judges think murders need second chances etc.

so, my orignal point still stands... speed cameras dont catch bad road users or killers...just speeders.

i think a lot of people are just too stupid to realise what they are.

A guy at work was driving around with them on so i made a regular joke about it when i saw him, turns out he thought they were the driving lights so always put them on?

Front fog lights.

They don't annoy me. I don't know why people turn them on in normal conditions, maybe it's because they think they look cool, or they think they can somehow see better - I don't know. All the front fog lights I've looked at do not blind me, ever. I see lots of them on every day and have never, ever, been blinded or dazzled by them. Whether they aren't bright enough, or because they're dipped to the curb, I don't know, but I don't know what some people are on about on here when they say that front fog lights blind oncoming drivers. You must have sensitive eyes or something.

Rear fog lights.

Different story. From a distance, I don't care. The driver just looks like a plank, driving around with a fog light on for no reason. I only get annoyed when I'm pulled up behind them in traffic or something and the bright red light is in my face. Especially on a really dark light, the light is very distracting. "Turn it off you penis!" Is what I usually end up pointlessly shouting to the moron who can't hear me. :(
