Folding@Home News - Attention Single-Machine Crunchers

Right then - any more for any more?
Once this hour's stats update has finished I'll grab them and get cracking with the news.

The current single-crunchers list stands at:
Concorde_Rules
divine_madness
GT3
Napalm
nellystew
OcUKIsotope
pmbuzz
Rincin
RobOC
slamma06
sr4470
TinkerBell

But it's not too late to be added to this week's news so get your names down if you are folding on just one machine and want to be included in the list :)

edit: oh and anyone getting over 1,000 points will be listed as having dumped "1,000+" rather than the actual score - you'll still be included in the top dumpers list anyway so it'll have to do you X2-boys :p

You can add me to that single machine list......when I get onto the list that is (Name is the same). My first WU should be finished early tommorow. (I'm thinking that once I have done one WU I will get my name added to the team on the stats page?)

The smaller ones can finish in less than a day, but the majority take 1-4 days on a good system.

and yep you're right about appearing on the stats page - once the first WU has been credited (usually within the hour of it finishing) then you'll appear on the main stats page and that will trickle down to the 3rd party stats within a few hours

Come to think of it, if get more 364-pointers I can match or even beat your output...1481 is giving me almost 400ppd on a single core
 
I've got some problems sending my finished WU to their servers. All I get is:


[16:08:29] + Attempting to send results
[16:09:03] Couldn't send HTTP request to server (wininet)
[16:09:03] + Could not connect to Work Server (results)
[16:09:03] (171.65.103.100:8080)
[16:09:03] Could not transmit unit 01 to Collection server; keeping in queue.

I do have a hardware firewall (DG834) and I have tried to forward port 8080 but it hasn't seemed to work. Any ideas?
 
Assuming the application is allowed net access on port 80 as well as 8080? Are you using the console or graphical client?

Try this: run the client with the -configonly flag. When it asks if you want to use Internet Explorer settings, choose the opposite setting from the one currently selected. Leave the other settings the same then try uploading again.

(quick way to re-attempt upload: run the client with the flag -send all)

Was this last night or this afternoon? As it seems i lost a WU over night it finished, could not send to server then downloaded a new one but send all comand (or the send wu number) is coming up sending error then quits.. Now it's not in the queue..

Do you have a software firewall? If not WHY not? :D

Can't say i've seen that before, pretty much says what it is.. i think there must be a server error of some sort. I can see the server just now so it's not dead. can you see the server type http://171.65.103.100 into your browser..

EDIT: Prob solved never mind.. :)

Thats an IF you get more :D :p

I seem to be getting one after the other on my slower machines but the laptop which loves them keeps getting the bl**dy 56 pointers.. pain switching them all aboot
