[ Folding ] We only need 13,000ppd more to start catching ABXzone

though 25K PPD will be missed :(

Will this help? :D

Just to let you know that I have a few issues.

Firstly, I'm having some stability issues with a couple of machines. My main gaming rig is a core i7 920 running at 3.8GHz with 2xHD4890s. It's running 2 GPU2 clients and 1 SMP client. This is 100% stable but the HD4890s are very noisy and give poor PPD. They will be changed out for a pair of GTX295s when I can get my hands on some. The machine in the bedroom is a Q6600 running 2 Windows SMP clients. This is 100% stable at 3.4GHz. My old gaming rig is in the same room as my new gaming rig and is used mostly for photo editing and web browsing. It has a Q6600 at 3.4GHz and an 8800GTX and is running 1 GPU2 client and 1 SMP client. This is slightly unstable and probably just needs a slight voltage bump. The media machine in the living room is a Q6600 on a crappy mATX board. It is very unstable and crashes after about an hour with a very modest OC. I'll be working with that today. I have a spare DS3L which I'll put in. This will require a format and OS install - luckily, the system drive is completely separate from the storage drives and all the media is backed up also, so should be safe. Hopefully, by the end of the day, I will have four stable rigs Folding merrily away.

The other issue I have is work. For those of you who don't know me, I work away from home on an oil rig. I work 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off. I won't be leaving the entire farm running while I'm away but I will be leaving a couple of machines running. This means that the for half the time, I will be running on reduced capacity.

Plan for today is to rebuild the media machine in the living room and fiddle with the OC on the other unstable machine. I may possibly move graphics cards around. I'm toying with the idea of bunging the 8800GTX in the i7 gaming rig temporarily until I get the 295s (probably end of January). I won't be doing much gaming until then and it'll help cut down the racket. The 8800 gives almost as much PPD as the two 4890s together. I would stick the two 4890s into two other rigs - probably the bedroom and the living room.

Long term, the plan is to get the 295s for the new gaming rigs when some are available and I have the money. I also intend watercooling the gaming rig so I can hopefully push it a bit further. It will run happily at 4.2GHz but not stable enough to Fold without more voltage. I don't have sufficient cooling to up the volts at the moment but should be able to when it's under water. If I get that watercooled and 2xGTX295s in it, it should be a monster :D

I'll let you know how I get on :)

Oi Stan!

Ship those machines over to my house when you're at work. I will happily keep an eye on them as they fold. for me of course!

I'll send them back. Honest :o

Woo Hoo just got my EVGA Micro board back and she's up and running at last now i need to sort out some bigadv units when i get my VM backup and running

Edit right my VM is not running any folding WU's at all this is what the log say's

If your are running Linux in a VM then CoreStatus = 0 (0) usually points to a memory issue - i.e. not enough.

Although the error you get after it doesn't quite seem to fit.
