I know everyone is going off topic so i don't feel guilty.

You may want to take advice from your dentist before making this lifestyle change. I know several vegans who have suffered from teeth issues as a consequennce of becoming vegan. You're dentists opinion will be important.

As an alternative you could try what I'm doing.

Btw, I'm 36 and having given up smoking, taken up exercise, and given up binge drinking I'm now turning to getting a healthier diet in place so I last to 55..

I've started getting vegetables and fruit delivered, and I'm going to ensure that I eat them all every week. So far it means I'll be too busy eating and dealing with the veg and fruit to end up bothering with the bad stuff - which is fast carb type lazy food.

So far it's going ok, but I've always really liked vegetables, it's really just a convenience thing rather than a taste thing. I do of course love a fry up, but I'm equally happy with vegetable soup followed by a nice bit of fish.

One thing to look out for is fruit, it may be nutritionally dense, but it's still fast carbs, so it's not a wonderfully healthy replacement for stuff - if you end up eating massive quantities of fruit.

Now this is in the food forum would a passing don be good enough to tidy up (delete) the GD **** that's in it? Thanks :)

Buy the best one you can afford. The £105 one looks fine and should see you through. What you don't want to do is to spend £65 on a cheapo one and find you have to replace it later when it burns out. I might also recommend white, because silver is a faddy colour. It's like the brown of the 1970's and in 20 years you'll wish you hadn't got it in that colour :D

Was thinking about going for the £75 reduced from £100. Not exactly cheap. Seems to do 90% everything the more expensive ones do but is more compact?

PS Never notiecd there was a food forum in OCUK

Just go to a shop and have a look at it. The problem with some of the machines is they cut corners to get more 'features' in. Spie was looking at a multi food processor that looked amazing on paper and impressive in the videos, great price, but when I had a play with one in John Lewis it really felt like they had cut corners on the materials, buttons etc. Then someone on here said their own one had broken something off and the weighing function had failed.

It's Argos. They don't have the products on display.

You can ask for a 'customer viewing' of the product where they will bring it out before you pay any money and you can open the wrapping and have a look at the product before you decide whther you want to buy it.

Go to a different shop, it's not like Argos is the only shop

Most John Lewis shops have typically got a good selection of food processors.

Argos are selling this for £240

I'm surprised that people think making it to 55 is an achievement. My grandad smoke and drank his way up to 82, so I am sure my considerably healthier-than-his living will see me hit 90 (plus the advances of medicine).
