Football 5th-6th Feb 2011 **SPOILERS**

i think you'll find when we were invincible we were playing teams off the park

You purely kept getting lucky last minute winners and equalisers in "fergie" time

You did have a lot of dodgy penalties to get back on level terms that year, one particular dive by Pires against Portsmouth I think it was, was absolutely criminal.

if i was offered an arsenal draw and a utd loss this morning i would have grabbed it with both hands.

A win against newcastle would have meant nothing had utd of won

The fact is were still a point closer to you and you have city to contend with next week then chelsea not long after and you've still got to face us on our turf ;)

We definately have the easier run in

I'm not sure what to say about Wednesday today.

Megson = lulz.

Some amazing and wonderfully odd results today. Crazzzzy day of football.

What happened to Arsenalolol? Wolves beating United?

Saha! LEGEND.

Well we're still top at the end of the day, and I doubt that Arsenal's unbeaten season will be repeated for a while simply because of the standard of the league at the time.

Are you trying to say UTD lost today because Wolves are good? Arsenal went unbeaten because they had great group experienced pro's with most of them in their prime. OTOH UTD have struggling along with Evans in defense, very little cover at wing-back, and central midfielders that are either average or well past their best. TBH I can't understand how they went this far without been hammered as they have been dreadful in so many games.

Neutral when it comes to English football. Arsenal's unbeaten team is the best team to have played in the premiership. Even if Man U had gone unbeaten this year that would still have been the case.

shocker for arsenal today, not helped by yet another incompetent ref, sent diaby off but not a newc player against our keep! **** must have been a woman as our 5th wasnt offside!

redemption has been made by wolves tho, just need city to beat them next week and we will be within range of a prem win!

It's easier to take now that united have lost but we would have been 2 points behind them!!

At least it's not knockouts even if that happens ;)

True, but if wolves can beat united then Arsenal can beat Barca. Just have to hope we get a nice ref :)

from the beeb

1950: Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson: "We are disappointed. It's been a long run for us. The players have done us all proud but in the second half we didn't really get going. They are a handful at the set pieces as it proved today. It was an opportunity for us to continue our great run but today was a great disappointment." And on Rio Ferdinand: "He's done his calf and that's him out for a couple of weeks I believe."

Rio out for a couple weeks!

Losing your unbeaten run to a team 20th in the league.

Priceless

Arsenal still the only "invincibles" to grace the league :D

As an Arsenal fan, you have nothing to boast about today. :p

What is it with Fergie putting Rooney on the left, Chico upfront on his own and Giggs behind him? Giggs should have been subbed for Anderson, awful game from Uniteds greatest ever player.

Glad we finally lost a game. It has been coming all season away from home. Still 4 points clear at the top, still safe. Can lose next week again and still be top.

Thats 4 goals conceded from 4 set pieces in the last 2 league games. Something to worry about there. :(

What an epic match I'm really happy for Wolves and Mick.

Elokobi's post match comment made me laugh: "We knew we would have to play 50mins (in the second half) against Man UTD". :D

What a great result for the Premiership all-round.

I think but all the most delusional United fans would've recognised that too.

Doesn't stop the sheer ecstatic relief we get from Arsenal fans now though. ;)

yeah and wtf is up with fergie time in the wolves match its not even subtle anymore
Yeah I know how ridiculous is that, especially after no substitutes, Hennessy sprinting to take each goal kick, no stoppages for injuries or limp-wristed fights, Wolves players taking each throw-in within 45 seconds, and Molineux ballboys not taking the **** in the last 15 minutes or so.

Seems no-one can ever get one ever on Emperor Fergie, maybe that fat Spanish bloke was right...

United lost today because the midfield went non-existant as per usual, except that we didn't luck it out like usual.

As for Wolves, well, I would have done the same as they did - park the bus and break in numbers, which they did. I just have to laugh at the fact that they'll most likely still go down due to the fact that the team only turns up to half a dozen matches a season, they'll probably go and blow points up the wall in the next few weeks against the teams around them.

You can say what you like about Arsenal but they didn't have any good competition at the time, it was just so easy for them. It's akin to putting the current Arsenal team in the Scottish First Division for a season.

Impressive achievement none-the-less, but I doubt it'll be repeated. The circumstances were perfect for Wenger and his men.

A question to those of you who will no doubt flame me: If i'd have come to you in July and said your team would be unbeaten until February, would you have taken it, no matter who you ended up losing to?
