I really cant understand everyone getting mad about the players' reaction to Nani on the floor.

He goes down, gets up, runs over to the ref, and then falls over after Gerrard gives him a slight push. I would have reacted exactly the same - to the Liverpool players Nani is diving in reaction to that little push of Gerrard.

Shocking tackle by Carra though.

So it's a "shocking tackle" but he shouldn't stay down despite being injured by the shocking tackle?

Not really... have you not had an injury where you bled, but were in no real discomfort?

Terry Says...Play on!

Selective quoting \o/

And while there is a thread about over rated players, There's a good example haha

I think you misunderstood me. I didn't say he was faking it - I said I understood why the Liverpool players reacted as they did.

He didn't "stay down" as you claimed. He got up, ran over to the ref, and then fell to the floor when Gerrard touched him. I'm not doubting he was hurt, just that it wasn't as clear as it looked.

Yeah me too

springs to mind.

Wish we could talk about how good Suarez and Liverpool's midfield were yesterday. All this Nani talk is taking away from one of our best performances in ages.

Dicov? He's tiny.

Liverpool were much the better side in all honesty. United looked poor in defence, left a lot of space, uncharacteristic. Tough run of games for United, Chelsea / Arsenal and 'pool.

one thing I do seriously believe about this season is that whoever wins the league will probably be the worst side to have won it in a long time

Man Utd are well short of their standard over recent years, Chelsea have lost the plot, Man City have yet to gel, Arsenal are a reasonable side but in most seasons would not have been pushing for the title and Liverpool were woeful for over half the season

While it has made for a very interesting season thne overall standard seems to have dropped significantly

Totally agree, the standard of football this year across the table has been woefull. Although for the bottom and midtable clubs it's pretty good because you can quickly go from 18th to 11th.

I would have preferred Manu to win the league at a canter to stop them going in and buying up the best players in the summer to rebuild. I'm going to hate losing Rodwell to them in the summer. He needs to develope some more and no one even knows where he should play yet.

I look at the united team though and considering the success of the team in recent years and the funds still available it's an awful side. Half the players in the side wouldn't have been good enough to get a run out in the league cup 5-10 years ago.

Yet they are still top of the pile, despite needing a huge clearout. Personally I think it would be a great time to employ a new manager as well. If Fergie wins the league, bow out and let someone else rebuild, someone who can take you forward tactically, especially in europe.

Think people are going overboard on the talk of worst winner in a long time, our 4 teams are all in the latter stages of the CL, Arsenal even leading against the best team of all time (or thereabouts). I think the rest of the league has got ridiculously competitive physically which means every single game is a battle.

Our top teams now are very good, look at Spurs, sitting around 4th/5th yet destroyed Italy's best side with relative ease. We have the most top sides of any league in Europe. We'll have to wait to see how far we go in Europe for a true say though

I really don't like the idea that Cara's tackle could be described as a "strong" tackle, which I heard some people describe it as. Cara's a tough defender and imho, wanted to show Nani he was in a battle (much in the way that guy at Birmingham killed Edd) and these tackles should be stamped out of football. People say that the English game is full of tough tackles and it's better for it, but I think English football should drop this attitude and these tackles offer no positive to the game. I think flair players avoid this country and they're the type of players leagues want to attract. You don't want tough tackling games void of talent, you want flair players and good football. You can't have both. The Spanish league is often belittled because the defenders aren't "physical enough" but yet they play much better football? I think the two go hand in hand. Look at Torres, he's struggled with the physicality of the English league, it's almost as if it's worn him down. Ronaldo left and he was kicked often, the same can be applied to a lot more players but they're two that spring to mind. This is more of a general rant that one that is specifically about Cara, it's just that happened to be a recent example. Do we really think that players such as Messi / Iniesta / Villa / Kaka et al would be the players they are today if they had to put up with the "physicality" of the English game? English football is fast being left behind on and off the pitch. (a lot of this is due to the incompetent F.A. who are a joke of an organisation)

I know it's cool to jump on the Nani cries wolf bandgwagon, and rightly so, he does go down easily at times but I think yesterday it was clear he was hurt. I think it's clear when players are hurt and I REALLY think it was fairly awful of the players to give him hassle for it. I felt sorry for him. I also think in that situation you'd be annoyed, you'd be annoyed and I'd be annoyed at a tackle like that.

I do hate diving, and I'm the first to take the **** out of players for it, but I think it's more then just diving that's the problem, the inconsistent level of refereeing and shocking standards of tackles that players are let off with is a far bigger problem.

Anyway, novel over.
