Football and the Coronavirus

I know right. I've been saying all along, whoever won the league while there were no fans would have won the pointless football trophy. Should have null and voided it, just like this season now. Maybe give free tickets to the un-vaccinated if they get the jab on the way in to the stadium.

this has no bearing at all on how well my team are doing and how well their rivals are.
So Liverpool won it by luck etc?

You have to be some kind of a special thick footballer to not be vaccinated against covid.

Colour me not surprised at the level of thickness in some Premier League players.

Fairly unlucky for Liverpool when a decimated Leeds side already played another match.

Yet another season tainted by COVID, shame.

Massive disadvantage to all the teams who have to play both the 26th and 28th
I mentioned it the other day, it's covid lottery and it goes beyond these two rounds of fixtures. Teams that are picking up 2 or 3 positive tests at a time are being disadvantaged as they're having to play on with weakened sides, while those that are picking up 6+ positives are getting their fixtures postponed and at this time of year a postponed game could prove a huge advantage.

We're going to see some sides get a lot of good luck through positive tests, postponements and the timing of their games and we're going to see some sides get some very bad luck and it could prove the difference between relegation, qualification for Europe or even the title.

Do you think they’ll cut our cup semi to one leg?

Unlikely. It's the biggest money maker for the EFL and Sky aren't going to agree to losing two ties involving 4 of the biggest sides in the country without a load of money being repaid, which the EFL won't pay.
This will cause a pretty big fixture pileup for Liverpool. They're still in the League cup and Champions League and FA Cup starting next month too.
If it were to become 3 or 4 games then it might be an issue but they'll find room to reschedule 1 game and given the way Klopp treats the FA Cup there's a good chance we won't go deep in that and the rescheduled game will fit in during an FA Cup weekend.
