Used to follow it avidly in the mid 80's to mid 90's when English football clubs were actually that but gave up after the foreign invasion if one could subtly call it that. As a teenager at the time I saw that it would mean that our national team in future would struggle for quality talent in future and...lo and behold. Most of my mates love their footy talk which partially makes me feel isolated during pubtime ramblings I do admit :)

I do love big tournaments like Euro championships and the World Cup (voted for) accordingly though.

Edit: Everton supporter here :D :p

While I enjoy watching the World Cup (as it's sort of a social thing too), I otherwise don't care at all about football and never really have.

Pretty much this.

Oddly, I quite enjoy playing the FIFA games when someone brings one round, although I haven't actually bought one since 2000. I did have Premier Manager 2000, which was always a laugh to play with my cousin (we'd pick the worst teams we could and see what we were able to do with them). That's about it, though. :p

Edit: Oh, Chivalry Foosball is hilarious.

I dont like it myself tho i wouldnt say i hated it. I used to like the manager games on spectrum/amiga/psx1/snes etc but for some reason never played em on the pc as there just full of crap compared to the cool ones back in the day with style instead of plain gfx and lots and lots of options that arnt fun even if realistic to how its done.

Think my fav was kevin keegans player manager on the snes then the psx1 game player manager.

Actually watch football tho, think its boring tbh. Managing is diff than watching a game etc. Duno why it just is.

Tho i will admit i did like fifa 97 game when my bro had it i really liked the commentary part of it. Also i liked the one with robby williams in around 2000 as i was at collage at the time and i had a few goes on that at a mates.

I like football but in the past I have sacrificed it for gaming. When I was at uni I hardly watched it, but shortly after graduating I watched England winning 5-1 in Germany and that kinda restored my faith/enthusiasm for the game. Every now and then you get a game like that that reminds me why I fell in love with the game in the first place, likewise a few years ago I saw Barca stuff Real Madrid 5-0 and that made me feel much better about watching a foreign league.

Been an Arsenal member for about 6 years now so in more recent times I have been sacrificing gaming for football (8hr round trip on a Saturday).

Football plays an important part in society as the most popular sport so one should expect to find plenty of fans among any group of people, including gamers. I for one consider football as stupid as many other sports but due to being exposed to it from an early age, being bombarded by information about it and playing it with my friends, it has grown on me so I voted I liked it.

Obligatory 'Pancake' vote.

Mixture really. Might watch it socially and get into it. Might check up on my home team (Doncaster Rovers) once in a blue moon. Find the higher paid the footballers get the bigger pussies they become which I can't stand watching. Don't watch it otherwise cos I couldn't care less about it.

Yes I like football & I play football on Fifa 14, Playing Fifa 14 really adds to the enjoyment as you get a vast knowledge of not only the Premier division players but also the big Europeans Clubs/players as well.
Supported the same team now for over 44 years as well. :)

I like watching football, but it's not something I would go out of my way to watch. Just if it happens to be on tv I'll keep it on. I like to see the skill and strategy, and it's more enjoyable than most sports because it is a fluid game.

Never really play it much anymore, but do still enjoy playing if invited with a bunch of people.

However, if for example badminton was televised more, that is something I'd willingly go out of my way to watch. Sadly I don't play much of that anymore either...
