I love football, and that's one of the reasons that I'm disliking games like football manager more and more every release. The features that they add each year to make it more realistic, doesn't, but does make it less fun to play.

Love football. It'd be pretty daft of me to suffer the biting wind and driving rain of a wet Tuesday evening in December at the Britannia if I didn't. Can't wait for the World Cup to kick-off.

Also love football, even though mighty Barnsley were relegated this year :(

Must admit i've watched more away games for Leeds as I take a group of young lads to all the away matches :)

No its boring, saw some guy almost have an orgasm in the pub this weekend when fa cup final was on, dont really understand how anyone can act like they have won the lottery when their team scores a goal.

I like football but my opinion is the same re: guys crying that "their" team didn't win. It's not as if they get a share of the prize.

I appreciate the skill some of the players have but I think I watch it more for banter/something to talk about at work.

I chose hate football, but I would say I dislike rather than hate.
I like the atmosphere of a game - The fear, the excitement etc.

It is completely ruined by becoming a sport for the yobs. Hurl abuse at a stranger, eat pie and finish off with a good fight.
Whilst football is more exciting than Rugby, I like how I can watch Leicester Tigers with mixed fans, alcohol and almost zero Police presence.

My local team is Stoke City as they are just a few miles away. I refer to them as the 'chip eaters'.
I do however have a Champions 1995 Blackburn shirt....

Above all my main football gripe is how the players act like school kids when they are having a handbag fight on the pitch, for £100,000 per week.

Have no interest in it, just bores the hell out of me. Don't hate it but I can't stand the brain dead monkeys it attracts who seem more interested in having a fight and hurling abuse at the opposing team than the actual game. Some also get a bit to into it, almost likes it's their life, blowing their load when their team wins and frothing at the mouth when they loose. If someone did that with anything else you'd say something was wrong with them but because it's Football it's socially acceptable. I hope England never win the World Cup (not going to happen anyway :p) because people will chant "in-gur-lund! in-gur-lund! in-gur-lund!" for the next 1000 years.

PC Gamer. I follow football and support Man Utd but I am the only one out of my group of PC gaming friends who does.

If I want a football conversation I have to go talk to my console gaming mates instead.

Never liked it, I have attempted at watching a about 5 matches on tv but I just don't like it.
I don't feel bad for people who get over excited/emotional over football matches. They are very passionate about there team and the game, I don't think I would ever cry over my passions.

I like football, I find those that say they hate it just say so to look "cool" which doesn't really work. They often say Rugby is better when you know they have never watched a single game or even know a single team apart from England. Im not crazy about football I just follow my team(wolves), some premier league and some cup competitions. Theres not much that can beat the joy of watching your team score/win especially in rival games or against the big dogs.

I don't think im cool for not liking football, im cool for other reasons:p

A lot of football fans got brought up on football as soon as they could walk. By there dad, mates(with dads:D) or social media.
How do you pick a team to support, do you go for your local one, whatever your dad/mates support?

I can watch talented people do just about anything; watching two teams of world class players play football is amazing as any high level competition usually is... however I dislike just about everything else around it, particularly the fan culture.

I had never understood this either until my friend put me a £1 bet on and all of a sudden I found myself screaming at the TV over some division-lame club I hadn't heard of before that day over the chance of winning £10... gambling is the secret of sports.

Nothing to do with looking cool at all. I just don't see the fascination with it. My dad dragged me to a couple of matches when I was a kid. Didn't enjoy them. Don't enjoy watching it on telly either, nor having to listen to the apes at the pub when there's a match on.

And yes, Rugby IS a better game (IMO), not that I watch that much either, but if I had to pick one, Football would lose every time.

I am split, I love the game itself...but I hate most football fans or rather hate that they have to be so overbearing about their passion. My main gripe is the fans that talk about it ALL day, everyday. I have a colleague at work who literally talks about football for almost 7/8 hours of our shift every day, and I promise I am not exaggerating at all. Then there's the stupid voice that people put on when chanting, why can't they bloody cheer normally lol!! I could go on but that's not what the thread was about lol.

In regards to gaming, I love FIFA and PES, but haven't played them for a good few years now (98 indoor football mode anyone hehe)
