I am split, I love the game itself...but I hate most football fans or rather hate that they have to be so overbearing about their passion. My main gripe is the fans that talk about it ALL day, everyday. I have a colleague at work who literally talks about football for almost 7/8 hours of our shift every day, and I promise I am not exaggerating at all. Then there's the stupid voice that people put on when chanting, why can't they bloody cheer normally lol!! I could go on but that's not what the thread was about lol.
In regards to gaming, I love FIFA and PES, but haven't played them for a good few years now (98 indoor football mode anyone hehe)
I LOVE football. Eat, breath football. But none of my friends like it. I think we speak about it for 5 minutes tops each time we meet. 1 friend likes football, but he supports Juve, and I support Roma, so we just end up arguing against each other. We speak about it a bit, talk in general and we are done.
If I manage to find someone who is really interested, I can go about it all day
Here are a few videos which show the passion of football for me
Just look how happy everyone is! The passion that goes into the game. The moment the team scores everybody goes INSANE. Football provides moments of pure ecstasy. For a few minutes you forget everything around you and you just push your team to victory.
People say they hate the 'their' mentality. Its a 12th man things. You are part of the club. You buy tickets, you buy merchandise, which ultimately helps with the running of the club. Fair enough you are not playing, you are not coaching either, but you helped them on.
Non-football fans thing I am mad, but its passion. Personally, I have not gone out numerous times to watch football games (have't missed a Roma game in 5 years I think). I missed some friends birthday parties (not good friends. was gonna missa game for a friend's party but I managed to see like 6- minutes of it there, saw the rest at home).
I used to watch 6 games a week on Sunday.
I might be crazy, but trust me, there is worse.
If someone understand italian, this explains it well
