Football Banter Thread

Charlie Adam's appeal against his stamp on Giroud has been knocked back and he's got a 3 match ban for violent conduct. Serves him right, dirty player.

So you can only dress as someone of your own skin colour or is it whoppi's acting that's the issue:D

:D

I actually don't see what she's done wrong.

Is it being interpreted as racist? If so on what basis?

I would guess that its to do with her position in the Kick it out campaign as its not seen as being politically correct to 'black up' so there would be an element of conflict on what she's campaigning against and how she is being portrayed herself. Its stupid really though, fancy dress party going as Whoopi Goldberg of course it would be easier if Toni Duggan was black but she's not. In my mind she's making the costume be more authentic unless she started doing something inherently racist at the party? Perhaps a poor choice of costume by her but thats it.

Its like when prince harry dressed up as a nazi. Nothing in it but the media love a scapegoat!

About the only way you can 'get away with it' is if you're in a comedy programme that is satirising stereotypes / attitudes.

Read about Webb being the match day offical for the Man U game, and my heart sank. Its not even the 'bias' agaisnt us thats annoying its just that he is a joke of a referee, always bottles the big decisions in any game.

Not true, he will happily send off Stevie 10 minutes into a game for a one footed tackle after giving a dive as a penalty 30 seconds into the game

Surey something must be going on if given all his high profiles errors in games involoving us this season he is once again allowed to ref a big match where we are playing?

Side note - UEFA have confirmed that clubs not involved in Europe this year arent being monitored regarding FFP. So we're in :P (assuming we quailify)

Mastermind Levy will go to court doe!

I don't see why someone from the SYP should be involved in our games at all, never mind his complete inability to fairly rule a game

Arsenal fan Sam Navret has decided to petition Liverpool and demand that the club allow Luis Suarez to move to the Emirates this summer, insisting that the Uruguay striker is being kept at Anfield illegally.

Suarez wanted to join Arsenal this summer and went public with a transfer declaration in an effort to move across the Premier League, but a highly-contested £40m release clause in the forward's contract was dismissed by Liverpool.

The 27-year-old has put that turbulent summer behind him to produce a stunning campaign with Liverpool to date, delighting Reds fans with 23 Premier League goals in 22 games and signing a new long-term contract.

Reds owner John W.Henry has since admitted that there was an exit clause in Suarez's deal and took a huge gamble by rebuffing Arsenal's £40,000,001 offer last summer, a revelation which led Navret to take action.

The Gunners fan launched an online petition earlier yesterday stating that Liverpool should hand Suarez over for free because Henry lied about the clause, while also paying Arsenal £4.5m in compensation for the blunder.

161 people have signed the petition since it launched, from as field as Shrewsbury and Singapore.

Sympathisers can sign up and attempt to take the matter further by adding their name to the petition online, or follow the movement's progress on Twitter at the hashtag @FreeSuarez1.
