Football manager 2016

Just spent £62m on two full backs.... eek!!
However, this one cost me £35m and I think is an absolute bargain. 23 years old! https://gyazo.com/672f28e0cf31b86d2df2e710c7fa94a7

The other one is pretty good but not as good as this

I'd actually put the effort in of setting him up as a thrower in a throw in routine when that guy plays. Quick, long throw to a pacy inside forward might bring you a couple of goals a season. Plus he has the pace to cover as well if he loses the ball from a crap throw in.

How does this look on a 1440p monitor?

I cannot remember on prior versions if you could change UI size or not.

It looks good, you can change the scale from 75% - 200% iirc. I play it on a 32" Samsung 1440p monitor using the vitrex 2.1 skin and I have all the information on one screen for a player. I'll do a SS tonight when I get home.

I'm having such a **** season, I can't string a run of decent results together, squad morale is low, the tactic that got me 7th last season works perfectly one game and then awful the next. I don't expect to win them all but after last season I wasn't expecting to be fighting a relegaton battle.

Then oddly I manage to make it to the league cup quarter final, and I'm a draw with Milan away from going to the knockout stages of the Europa League.

No idea why the quality is so bad.

By the way, everyone should buy Andre Silva from Porto. He is a goal machine.

Something I am seeing quite a lot. I pipped Blackburn and Shef Wed to first place in the Champs last season and they then didn't win the playoffs. This season both teams are near the relegation zone! It's most bizarre. Does this happen in reality? I seem to be seeing it with alarming regularity. Brighton were 4th or 5th last season and this season they are near the bottom too. All the teams I was up against last season who were really pushing me hard are this season facing relegation.

Yeah it does happen, probably a little more accentuated on FM than IRL. On FM the morale has quite and effect so low morale from losing in the playoffs carries through to the next season. I don't know the technicality of the game mechanics but I suspect morale acts as a multiplier of some kind in the game engine on the player performance / ratings.

Getting shafted with injuries in my secon season with Wimbledon (after getting promotion to league 1)

Main STriker - out 7 weeks
Main CB - out 8 weeks
both first choice wingers - 8 weeks and 7 weeks
Main CM - 3 month

Can't get a run together with all the injuries.

Main striker back, 9 goals in 3 games, back on track :p

He got 37 in 42 games last season, he's on 11 from 11 this season so far, if he hadn't missed a load of games through injury/international I would be laughing.

As it is now sitting 4th after 21 games, a good 9 points off the auto promotion spots though.

Yeh injuries can still be ridiculous. I broke my no reload promise after getting 3 long term injuries in the first game of the season. :(

I had an amazing young Brazilian defender called Emerson, bought him for £6m and he had a great first season with me. Juventus were interested and he kicked up a stink about me not selling them, he threatened to ruin squad harmony so I let him go for £19.25m. He only got 10 games with them and was then transfer listed, so I bought him back for £12m. So all in all he was almost free!

I only just remembered as I was typing this about the threats he made though and now I'm a bit annoyed I bought him back. Having said that, he'll definitely have another good season and at the very least I might be able to make more profit on him again as he is only 24.

It's so frustrating when bigger clubs buy your best players then hardly use them. I had a youth product at Pescara, Davide Vitturini, who went to Arsenal for £23m a couple of seasons ago and has made just 6 appearances for them since :( I tried to buy him back in the summer but they rejected it and refuse to transfer list him, despite him being unhappy.

I had that in fm15 with Hatem Ben Arfa, played for me got 13 goals and 21 assists and runner up player of the season.

Went to Chelsea for 25mill, played 5 games, sold to Marseille end of the season for 5mill :p

It's happened with a few of my players. Whenever I buy someone good I just expect to only have them for 1-2 seasons. Fortunately no one is after my star striker Andre Silva yet. I have no doubt they will be at the end of the season though, I'll be gutted when they do come for him.

I need to qualify for the Europa League in this season coming otherwise I will lose a few players.

I've got Andre Silva at Espanyol and for some reason no one ever seems to be interested in him. I had him on loan for two seasons, he scored 41 goals, and Porto still let me have him for £5m without any competition from other clubs. He scored another 20 goals last season...but no one is trying to buy him. Not that I'm complaining.

Having real issues trying to sign players needing work permits in FM 16. Last years' game you could frequently push a signing through if they were good enough, despite them not having the required international appearances. Now though... not a chance.

I've just gone League two - Premiership in consecutive seasons with Plymouth Argyle, and have been signing loads of players requiring WPs and just loaning them out. At one point over a third of my wage bill had been committed to WP players, but the costs were ultimately being covered by the acquiring club. Bought a youngest from ASEC for £100k, loaned him out for two seasons and despite playing the required games for the Ivory Coast he still wasn't being given a WP. Sold him to AC Milan for £7.25m rising to £10m.

At the same time I think I may have signed my favourite ever player. Will post a screenshot of him later on when back at home. When the game creates regens, a tiny amount are created and attached to no club. These players are almost always crap, but a found an 18 year old Cypriot who'd been gen'ed but hadn't been with a club. Signed him in League Two and he's risen up the league with me. He's not got the best attributes, is pretty average as far as EPL midfielders go, but I love the fact that he hadn't been generated with a club at all yet now he's worth ~£6m.

These are a couple of screen shots I've just found of my old favourite ever FM/Champ Man regen from a couple of years ago. I could certainly do with a player like him now!
