Football manager 2016

Just finished my third season with Brighton. Improved on my 12th place in the Premier League last year with a 7th place finish. I had an incredible home record but had the worst away record in the league. Finally made some tweaks and made a seperate away tactic and I finished the season really well, inlcuding beating Chelsea 2-0 at home (using away tactic).

I'm really happy with my team at the moment. Starting lineup includes Begovic, Ivanovic, young brazilian defender called Emerson, Paulo Oliveira (bought from Chelsea), Felipe Melo, Fabio Borini, Solly March is amazing. A few other big names too but some are retiring.

I've got £30m budget to spend and I'm tempted to splash to cash on one or two big name signings. Need a new striker really, someone that can finish consistently.

How are people getting on with work permits? I'm still in the Champs so that might not help me but I am struggling with permits. I have 8 players under 21's whom I have scouted and bought over the last few seasons. But they all require permits. 2 players were given permits almost immediately and have turned into first team players but the others are from the darkest depths of the planet and require Spanish or other feeders. I've got both a Spanish affiliate and a Belgium one but that one takes up to 5 years to gain a permit. It's a bit of a nightmare to be honest and its' a lot harder than it was in 15.

I've got a couple of players I need work permits for too, I don't really want to have to wait 5 years to play them as they could easily be in the first team now and they will be amazing in a couple of seasons. I'm having to loan them out to Spain at the moment. I just have to hope they get some international games but that's unlikely at the moment too. Very annoying.

Isn't Croatia the quickest way to gain a permit? I have Dinamo as a feeder club on my Fiorentina save and I'm sure it only takes 3 years to get a permit. Usually quicker if they get a couple of international games.

3 games left, 3 points clear, decently better goal difference... Let the nail-biting ensue..

EDIT: Champions champions champions champions, with a game to spare (realistically) :) I can still lose the title, but only if I lose and Roma win by something like 9 or 10 goals. 1st time someone other than Juventus has won Serie A in 7 seasons :)

Unless you lose and Roma win and then you find out Roma have a better head to head record against you this season......
 
How do you make your team actually use the corner tactics you have set? Mine just keep ignoring them completely and doing their own thing??
 
Is anyone else getting plagued with crashes ?

I play quite a bit of FM and this one plays fine for a couple of seasons each time then i start getting crashes all the time , it's doing my head in. I am onto my sixth club / game now and on a normal FM series i only have one maybe two. As i say i get a couple of seasons or so and then random crashes all the time.

Not for me, it's been very stable, even when it turns my laptop in to a red hot furnace during the matches (in 3D)

Nope. I used to get a crash each time I exited both 15 and 14 (maybe 13 too) but even that's gone with 16.
 
Cheers lads. Truth is I've been lazy and never done a bug report or asked for help etc I just restart when it gets too bad but I must do as its spoiling my enjoyment. will be fine then suddenly I just get them constantly , sometime 6-10 in an hour. Its bonkers.

Set pieces are a complete mystery to me in FM16, I rarely ever see goals from them from me or the AI would be nice to have some tips if someone has attacking ones that work

I have just been trying these out and after trying all 3 routines have seen no goals and a good portion of the time they don't even follow them. This is best seen on the short corner tactic. When I set this up the man goes short but the corner taker ignores him 9/10 times. Just really struggling to see how any of the set piece tactics are supposed to work.

Cheers I'll have a read later. I assume you are clicking on the taker and setting where you want them to put it (ie short)? Easy to miss though
 
Started my first game with Forest Green, I've been top 4 throughout the season but only now having reached game 35 have I managed to get to 1st! Not sure I'll hang on to it mind, tough league!
 
One game away from getting Brighton into the Europa league ahead of my 4th season. I've got a 2-0 away goals lead against Boavista in the qualification playoff (beat Sion on away goals in the 3rd round). Boavista were awful so I should be fine :)

I'm only there because Arsenal won the FA Cup and they already had a Champions League spot, and I was 7th in the league so I got the Europa League spot.

My wife is getting fed up of me playing this though, 65 hours in 2 weeks and I haven't played a game on the Xbox since I bought it! I normally play every day.
 
Actually starting to get into fm16. Decided to fix the broken united. Bought Domenico Berardi to play on right wing and Gabriel Barbosa to replace Rooney who decided he wanted to leave the club and go to Arsenal. In Jan and it's basically me and Chelsea battling for the top. Berardi is currenly top scorer with Martial closely behind.
Still going with my Roma FM14 version where i'm 30 years in. Berardi was about 30 goals from Totti's all time goal scoring record. And my 39 year old keepers 21 years in goal has just supassed he Totti's league apps record.
