Football SPOILERS 11/12 April

how boring do stoke play there football at home

not to mention the constant time wasting with there throw ins, and sorensen's goal kicks. Then they were throwing things at R. Taylor, i hope they go down, the premier league dont need a team and set of fans like theirs, they need genuine fans like the toons.

How come stoke were playing the better football? And outplaying you for most of the game. And also, isn't the main reason your in this relegation battle because a certain set of fans got allardyce sacked?

Toon fans, never cease to make me laugh. :p

Rooney shows up our forward line every week. Whenever Tevez is given a ball, his back is to goal, the ball bounces of him and he has to run a few yards to get it under control, then he passes it back down the pitch to someone. Berbatov gets the ball, controls it better, but like Tevez his back is to goal and he quickly gets rid of it. The first half yesterday, he had some nice passes and didn't lose possession like other players did, but he's going to need to show something else.

Rooney runs at players, gets in better positions. I know Berbatov is only back from injury and looks to have injured himself again yesterday but he's going to have masses of critics at the end of the season if he doesn't change his ideas and actually influence a game. That said, I look at the rest of the players and despair at some of the form they are showing. Any criticism of Foster is a bit much considering he's only just been given his second start in the Premiership for us, the bunch of professional footballers and defenders in front of him playing suicide football for large periods of the game couldn't have been a nice experience for him.

Uniteds problem at the minute and I know lots and lots of other posters are going to barrack me for it, is the lack of quality from the back up players and the lack of stamina and failing abilities of our older players.

There is no way the likes of Park, O'shea, Neville, Scholes, Giggs, Evans and Berbatov should be on the pitch at the same time.
Evans is still very young granted, but he has clearly shot his bolt and running on empty, his decision making and overall play is getting sloppier by the game, he is picking up more and more injuries as he is forced to play far more games than he is realistically able to play.
Vidic and Ferdinand and now suffering as they have to pick up the slack each and every time they play, that in turn increases their cumulative fatigue, leading to more injuries, sloppy play through tired mind and body etc etc.

The same applies to Carrick, Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez, as they are paired and forced to play with players whos legs have gone, whose play is sloppy, it drags them down to that level as the games go by and it brings the overall performance down.

It sounds contrived, but it applies to all our decent players, they get dragged down by the rest.

That applies to each and every team out there, its happened to Arsenal, its happened to liverpool, its happened to chelsea.

sheperd brought sam in, ashley sacked allardyce, fans wanted him to go because of the long ball football he brought, he's hardly doing well at blackburn though is he?

I cant believe we are going to see a league bottled to a win.

IF only Liverpool had won some of "those" games, I would love to see a Liverpool league title win.

You don't want to see the league "bottled" to a win, yet you would prefer Liverpool to win it? They've only played anywhere near good since winning at OT, and even then teams have been rolling over for them for most of the season.

This is spot on.

Watching Goals on Sunday !

LOL at Ian Ashby !
The ball was clearly over the line you fool, and then your team failed to defend the corner :D haha

Good win for Middlesborough!

Torres's first goal was stunning, Still don't think they're going to win the league, but they will push United right til the last, in great form at the moment.

Sheffield Wednesday played amazing second half, hit the cross bar, balls cleared off the line, penalty shouts turned down, but couldn't get that all important goal ! Derby had controll of the first half and scored, a very lucky goal !

Manchester United ! a 17 year old gets us out of jail again, give that boy a huge bonus.
Need to sort ourselves out and get back on track, should have players returning over the next week or so ! back to winning ways.

I want a decent striker instead of Berbatov, thats what I want.

We expect a little more from our strikers at united than wandering around disinterested and not a lot else, Spurs was about his level (no offense), no real pressure, no real expectation to perform, he turns up, he can relax it doesnt really matter if he fluffs one or puts in a bad game because they were not realistically going to challenge for a major title no matter how well he played, so he could just get on with things.

At united, every goal and bad performance counts, and his lack of consistent lack of effort shows each and every minute he is on the pitch.

Yeah it didn't matter that Andy Cole needed 400 shots to score one goal, atleast he put the effort in :D

I said at the start of the season when people kept creaming themselves about berba and this dream line up of Berba Rooney Tevez in one team with Ronaldo that it would never happen or work. As you said there are too many sets of old legs that playing in so many games has killed off. Normally you have the stamina to kick on this part of the season. Nothing has changed from the start of the season, just tired players.

If you want a laugh go back and read that thread on Berbatov's signing and see people wet themselves with the dream team line up thinking Carrick and scholes would be all the midfield you would need :D

Makes a change for teams to roll over for anyone other than United.

We get the game raisers and you know it ;)

Teams don't raise thier games against Liverpool because frankly they don't have to, this year the surprise has been because Liverpool are a lot better than they have been.

The whole team are looking very tired and jaded, the exception being Rooney who after having a rest through suspension and hitting form with England has brought the only bit of freshness I can see back into the team. Too many players are hitting bad form at the same time and like you've said, it's stretching other players and affecting their games too.

A different Ronaldo came onto the pitch yesterday, he chased defenders, he tracked back and for the first time in what feels like ages, he wasn't acting the brat. And with Anderson back from injury, we'll have more options in midfield. Hopefully we'll see a different team performance on Wednesday night against Porto who won 3-0 in their league match last night.

Lies! I thought it was common knowledge that Liverpool aren't any better this year, it's just the teams around them (United especially) haven't been as good ;)

True I agree, if Chelsea and MU were on it like they have been over the last 4 years Liverpool wouldn't be anywhere near us, you have just been performing above expectations and are still only hanging on ;)

04/05 United 77 points
05/06 United 83 points
06/07 United 89 points
07/08 United 87 points
08/09 United 71 points (92 possible)

I see your point ;)

And where did you finish in those seasons ;)

Are you upset because you are missing your annual dog fight with Everton for fourth? :p
