Its Rio's back that has caused the main issue - he has missed so many games this season because of it (or seemingly) - yes Vidic has missed a few through (stupid ) suspensions but its Rio thats mainly caused Evans to play so many more games than he is able to (and therefore causing the errors in defense)
HE is a really decent CB, and he cant be blamed for being asked to fill in more than his legs are capable of - as stated above, I cant see us attracting anyone prominant in that position unless its a replacement for Rio - which isnt going to happen (and that might fairly or unfairly annoy Evans)
Rio is a future club captain - but only if he can keep his back in order (and these problems have been occuring for several seasons now).
Glad to see Anderson back, but he has had a pretty disjointed season with barely any runs in the side...is it too late in the day for this season to give him a number of EPL games on the bounce (surely he will need two or three more sub appearances to be fully match fit I would have thought). I guess with a sub appearance in midweek he could start the Semi next weekend.
Utd have had too many stupid suspensions recently - Vidic and Rooney and Scholes comes to mind straight away - which havent helped at all, and Nani not really improving over last summer has meant we are relying a lot on back up players when we shouldnt be
The whole team hasnt really performed this season apart from a few games (one of which was a Carling Cup game) and our once inpenetrable defence has reverted back to how it was at the beginning of the season ( ie as leaky as the Titanic)
