Football SPOILERS 11/12 April

I bet against Arsenal winning last night when I saw that Almunia, Gallas and Clichy were all out meaning we'd likely have to field the young trio of Fabianski, Djourou and Gibbs at the back (I did wonder if Silvestre might have got the nod for his experience).

Here's hoping for a fightback; at least the bench is fairly strong.

Its Wengers fault, utter twit, why on earth are we still playing 4-4-2, Theo on the wing is useless, if he runs with the ball he knocks it too far ahead and loses the ball, every single time. Worthless winger, Song and Denilson, defensively not even there, Arshavin lacks the pace to be a real winger though on the ball in the final third has some real class, Bendtner is a support striker, and plays a million times better every game they play RVP, Eddie, Theo, Vela infront, infact all out strikers except Ade play their best football with 2 upfront, as does our midfield.

Djourou is a useless defender and as per usual with ineffective wings, 2 useless idiots in CM roles and a loan striker we aren't really making chances. Eboue on for Song or Denilson, couldn't care less which, put him on the right and Theo upfront with Bendtner.

Playing 4-5-1 means you tend to get less of the ball, you lose it more easily when pushing forwards and that only means you encourage more attacks, considering our defence is at its weakest, surely we should be playing a team based around keeping the ball upfront rather than in and around our box.

Djourou's out, looks like he went down on his own, which is normally a bad sign, seem to be strapping him up on stretcher off the pitch, knee's gone. Not sure what injury he was recovering from, hopefully he wasn't rushed back when unfit, and hopefully Silvestre isn't in danger of being reinjured.

Judging by the look on his face thats him out for the season, a single other injury at the back and we'll be playing, Song or Sagna at CB the rest of the season.

Interesting stat from one of the nationals today with the "long ball" table:

Liverpool 2,182
Portsmouth 1,943
Hull City 1,930
West Brom 1,910
Fulham 1,897
Blackburn 1,876
Newcastle 1,865
Everton 1,851
Wigan 1,838
Aston villa 1,793

Interesting to note Stoke aren't in there, despite the media often lying about Stoke playing long ball tactics....

I don't think I can watch our suicide football for much longer. It's been quite a while since I've seen such a lack of confidence at the back. Lovely header by Scholes, everyone else today (except Rooney and Berbatov) = meh.
