Football SPOILERS 11/12 April

it's because, if you watch liverpool, they play the ball back and back and back, until Reina gets it, who hits it forward, someone in the midfield or attack gets it, and the ball goes back again, for another long ball.

Interesting to note Stoke aren't in there, despite the media often lying about Stoke playing long ball tactics....

Not really a fair statistic to judge it on though is it, as it's just number of long balls. Teams like Liverpool probably have a lot more possession and hence passes than sides down the bottom of the league.

A more interesting stat to judge tactics would be to measure the ratio of long balls to total passes.

very good point.

I think Wenger needs to pull some of the cavelry off the bench and onto the pitch. We just can't afford to lose todays game or wait unti lthe bleedin' 70th minute to do something about it. I still can't believe that we've another injury today. Just ****ing not right.

Interesting stat from one of the nationals today with the "long ball" table:

Liverpool 2,182
Portsmouth 1,943
Hull City 1,930
West Brom 1,910
Fulham 1,897

Not long balls, just long throws. ;)

Chelsea playing well today, comfortable game so far, harsh penalty but made up for the penalty not given for the foul against cole in the first half.

Edit: 4-0 :D
