For Sale: Newcastle

lets clear this up, fred shep wanted bobby out, not the fans.

under robson we showed good attacking football, no fear and a winning mentality.
Give over. Robson at the end had to go, and the fans knew that too. He was losing the plot, and the team wasn't clicking any more. That's nothing against Robson as a manager, or how good he'd been before then, but at the end it was clearly time.

I see fans on the NUFC forums are fuming about the naming rights change, several people are actually seriously calling for Ashley not just to be attacked, but actually to be killed

Considering it's been called St James' Park since about 1892 Newcastle fans are well within their right to fume about a possible name change.

With regard to the killing comment, can you seriously believe it will ever happen? It's just fans royally ****** off at the way Ashley has "ran" the club. I take it people aren't allowed to vent their frustrations anymore then?

Try posting in a similar vein here and see how long before it is deleted ;) It's illegal to make death threats AFAIK. Not to mention utterly over the top with regards to a football stadium.

I wouldn't be surprised if some nutter does attack him at some point with all the rabble rousing that's taken place.

If the fans want the club to stay St james' park then all then had to do was give Ashley £100m!

Roeder, Kinnear and now Hughton. Newcastle need to learn that just because the caretaker gets a few good results does not mean they are the right person for the job.

I don't buy that. He bought quick, pacy players, but was ultimately forced to build a team around and make them play to the strengths of a declining (but still very good) striker, who loved being the biggest anything they ever had at the club and who pretty much single-handedly disposed of at least one manager before him for daring to counter his influence. Of course Shearer should have been part of his plans, but not the be all end all of them as was forced on Robson.

Fat Freddy also bought Kluivert and probably others that just didn't fit because the fans love to see a high profile player arrive for a big transfer fee around season ticket renewal time.

Manchester United fans did the same, burning effigys of Glazer even starting FC United in protest. People need to understand its a sport as well as business and that their is more to life.
