The Buy-It-Now price should be a reflection of what the seller values the item at, rather than a cynical method of conning people into believing they're getting something worth a lot more than it should be.
What's more shocking than one individual believing this is perfectly acceptable though, is that anybody else at all can agree with him.
It's more than an empty box - it's an empty Xbox 360 box - that alone distinguishes itself from being a box devoid of tricks or a box once containing second hand lawnmower parts from Uzbekistan.Trojan said:It's amazing that these 'legit' auctions never specifically state anything regarding the item being an empty cardboard only, or that the console IS NOT included. Nor do they ever seem to have a picture of the cardboard box, open, showing that it's empty. Pathetic really.

I agree with this assessment of the situation.Borris said:I call upon four facts to mitigate my flippancy.
- I would consider any genuine attempt to misrepresent / defraud, via obfuscation of relevant information, as being reprehensible.
- I suspect that this all inclement weather in a mug, and the auction was a setup - the winner (in cahoots with Tru), will mark the deal as undelivered, the vendor as unpaid - nobody loses (Except for two fiddy pence).

XBOX360 - Core System box, BOX ONLY (Possibly HAUNTED!).
Tru said:Hello and welcome to my auction.
I'm selling my beloved XBOX 360 CORE SYSTEM BOX. I swapped it with a good personal friend of mine for a tatty old laptop bag. It used to contain the AWESOME XBOX 360 CORE SYSTEM! I believe it is still haunted by the consoles ghost! WOWZERS!
This is worth nothing to me but could be worth a lot to you if, for instance, a doggie ate your last XBOX 360 CORE SYSTEM BOX. That is the reason for the harsh, but fair BUY IT NOW price.
IMO Ebay aint what it used to be, there's too many scammer types willing to sell you dodgy goods or misselling worthless tat for crazy prices. This, my chums, could be my last ever auction, so bid now and you could be my...
LAST AUCTION HERO
Good luck and farewell.
