For those who have STALKER, how does it run?

Im currently playing it and i have just picked up the military documents, apart from the game being bloody hard i so far have had no problems with all settings set high and the game res= 1680 x 1050. I cant benchmark against others as i only play a game every now and again, last one was max pain :)

Put it on eBay.

I can't enjoy a game that looks like crap and my PC can't run it on the settings when it doesn't look like crap :D

Don't need an A in English to know it's 'embarrassed'. It's primary school stuff.

Anyways. Dynamic Lighting in Stalker definitely looks way better than Half Life 2 and such.

Asides from graphics, the gameplay and general fun factor of Stalker makes it a FAR better game than Half Life 2.

Runs OK, doesn't look great, but it's certainly playable. Quite like the style of it so far, weapons feel a bit piddly though.

Why do so few games manage to make weapons that feel like they have impact? The only ones that I can think of are Half Life 1 (especially in CS) and Company of Heroes.

Running on a E6600, X1950 Pro 256mb (Cat 7.2), 2GB PC6400, X-Fi. Settings at 1280x1024, grass shadows off, textures up full, no AA/AF (didn't seem to make a difference), sun shadows on, grass density to about half and dynamic lighting on. Runs well for most of the time, but now and again it will lag and drop to about 20fps for a few seconds and then be ok. Quite annoying, gonna keep playing about with the settings, see if anything changes.

I played it for first time yesterday afternoon/evening (Saturday 24th) and didn't have a single issue. Running nicely at 1680x1050.

Playing it today the game keeps locking up and i have to hit the reset button. This is ruining the game for me. :(

Sometimes it'll play for long enough if you're lucky, but if it happens to autosave (I think that's what it's doing while the floppy icon's in the bottom right corner) while you're doing something remotely exciting it'll freeze.

A shame, I'm enjoying it so far, I'm around the Garbage at the moment, though something with the weapons just doesn't feel right, just doesn't feel as 'natural' as some other games.
