You need to set the values mate. So change the DWORD values for them.

ContextUIPolicy should be 1.
CplGroupUIPolicy should be 3.
TaskbarUIPolicy should be 2.

Then you "right-click" and add a New DWORD and set it to "SedonaDisable" and give it a value of 0.

Ah its ok now, googled it and download a reg file and click it, and it does it all for you :D.

On thing I dont like is the fact that I only get up to 4x AA  when its 16x AA with the new control panel, I cant play TDU unless I am using 16xAA/AF, looks sooo better than 8xAA/AF.

pieman109, doesent seem like most people are having problems with there 8800's, but with me its totall ****, cant play S.T.A.L.K.E.R or many games ecept for TDU at max. For me I get better performance on my X800XTPE for allot of games and the 8800 aint faulty, so for me its total hell.

What I found is that RivaTuner will let you set the adv.options back up. So you can get the Enhanced settings back. :)

Thanks, will try that, allthough might be putting my AGP mobo back in and going back to my X800XTPE unless Nvidia pull something good outa the hat next week, x800xtpe performs much better in most games tbh.

What do I do in Riviatuner to get the advanced settings back? I see advanced settings in the control panel, just it will only let me go to 4xAA.

Has anyone tried that Reg fix under Vista? does it enable the original control panel in there too?

Either way seriously considering going back to ATI, its not so much fun to watch telly and it just cant output properly with my 8800 GTX, seems Nvidia on there site has also suggested "Secondary mirroring is taken off due to Vista" yet ATI still carry it !

Still we cant be 100% sure if ATI Vista R600 drivers will be any good, it may very well be similar to what Nvidia have experienced a complete an utter disaster:)

Even if the DX10 card would run nothing & the DX9 card ran everything perfectly ???
No, obviously if things weren't playable that's a different story but I don't see any problems at all. My games run fine and I'm getting good performance. Whats happening with your games?!

Im not bothering with these, gona wait for these so called officials next week and read the feedback, i can't be bothered putting my GTS back in, then having to pop the x1800 back in again when i find these are poop as well.

A friend of mine is having the same issues as you did with yours, was qute funny really as he sold off his trust X1900 XT. He said how do I fancy a straight swap, my X1800 Xt for his 8800 GTS, I thought about it for all of 2 seconds and said no thanks mate.

I went from a 6800 GT SLI setup to the X1800 XT because I have always felt that ATI has had the better quality driver package and an overal better quality product.

Still got my 6800 GT's boxed up, keep meaning to sell them on lol.

Your are not very clever then mate, as you coulda sould that graphics card for double the price that the X1800XT is worth

Didn't want the hassle to be fair, and this mate I'm talking about is full of hot air. He aparantly had a 64 Bit Barton back in 2003 before anyone else, when I pointed out to him that a Barton cored chip was an Athlon XP 32 bit he was most adamant that it wasn't

So for all I know is that he's actually got a GeForce 2 GTS.

Im glad i decided to keep my x1800 as a spare, its running beautifully again, who cares if its slower, games are running fine which is the main thing, unlike on the 8 series, Nvidia have really gone down hill driver wise, im shocked at how bad they are, last Nv card i had was GF4, and those were fine driver wise, they aint got a clue now, ATi drivers are streets ahead. :)

You cant really say that mate, its not like all games play crap on the 8800's.

Nearly all, drivers are abysmal, very poor showing from Nv, 2 official sets in about 5 odd months that are utter crap, and a load of crappy betas, you can see whats more important to them, taking your cash, thats all they interested in, just churning out card after card to make you get yer wallets out, **** the drivers they dont give a ****.

They think im gona buy an 8900/G90 their having a laugh, no point in em as they wont run **** all, and what they do run will be utter rubbish, i dont care if they blow ATi away, least ATi's cards can run games beautifully, all yer can run on Nvidia's is bloody 3DMarks, about the only things that run decent on em.

Loadsa, why don't you just install XP on a partition, and use it for games? It's not as if Vista adds anything to gaming until DX10 games arrive.

I've downloaded these drivers but I don't know if I'll bother installing them, as I'm more than happy with the 97.92 XP drivers. I haven't had a crash or bsod in any game (incl STALKER) and the only glitch I've encountered is the HL2 distance fog, so it's not like I'm waiting on a driver 'fix' in order to play some game.

Has anyone noticed a performance gain in any games with these drivers?

I'm not sure if nvidia employees read the ocuk forums, so can ppl start using this please if they want to rant (and have vista!)

http://www.nvidia.com/object/vistaqualityassurance.html

I've already submitted reports for BSOD's happening when playing 2142.
You might want to post that link in a 'Vista' related thread too, since this thread is about 2000/XP drivers, so it may not get all the Vista users reading it.

Im using XP, won't be touching Vista for about a year yet, once its got decent driver support, and had some SP's, untill then its getting a wide berth. :)

Loads i cannot agree more nvidia drivers are bad i having a hell of a time with my hd tv,they so fakey one min they ok next they not, with ati within 10 mins i had them working fine at 1360 x 768 with all 3 connectiers (vga, conponent and hdmi) not like nvidia last nvidia card i had was gf3 i will go back to ati might even sell the 8800 and get one in a month orso as i never really minded the CCC.

Q

It was a real eye opener for me as the last few years people had been saying how good nvidia drivers are to ATI's and not having a nivida card for a few years i thought they would have been a lot better, well at least c&C3 works fine on them haha.
