Ford Mustang to be released in EU

I spoke to the "mustang specialist" today and he told me that if I put my deposit down now I will get my car by Q4. When you put your deposit down you have to spec it too and it's non refundable.

Wow 33k for a 5.0 'Stang. I probably prefer some older shapes but no doubt this will probably be a greatcar.

I hope it sells well enough to keep goingin the uk. But.not as popular as the mini cooper say.

A potential upgrade from the M3 which could be a bit tired by the time these are readily available. Exciting times well done Ford

As stupid as it sounds, one of the only things stopping me dropping a deposit is not knowing if we can get Recaros or not.

Damn you Ford, allow us to spec them!

Gibbo, I believe you said you've already seen one in the flesh? Do you know if the silver bit going along the top of the dash brushed aluminium or plastic? Also if you've been inside, how heavy is the clutch? One review I watched on Youtube said it was super light? Or does he just mean light for a 5ltr V8?

Thanks.

The silver trim I cannot remember, but it looked fine, the door, dash and plastics to touch were mostly of the soft touch variant like you find in BMW's, toggle switches felt mechanical nice.

Clutch was light, they've never being particular heavy in the Mustangs, so you don't need Arnie size legs to operate it.

The Toggle switches look very nice in the photos. The silver dash trim does very much look like real aloominum.

So are we looking at BMW sort of light and not Fiesta light? I drove a TVR Griffith 5ltr V8 a while back and found that very heavy and couldn't get on with a Fiesta because the clutch fell to the floor far too easily.

The clutch in mine is lighter than the Boxster but heavier than the Fiat Bravo my OH has, it just feels 'normal'.

Well my 911 clutch is heavier, I'd say BMW is a good comparison, but seriously why does it matter, whether it is light or heavy you simply adapt to it and it becomes the norm.....................

I've got used to BMW clutches and really like them so that is ideal.

1680KG for the V8.

1660-1740kg depending on spec, if you could get one with recaro's, no sound shaker system, you'd be close to 1660kg, but once heated/ventilated seats are in, sound shaker system your adding a good 60-80kg more weight.

Should be fine however, my Mustang was 1620kg with supercharger installed, it felt light on its feet and insanely fast, these new Mustangs won't feel blisteringly quick and cars like a GTR, 991 C2S would be much quicker, but they are not a Mustang. :)
