Ford Mustang to be released in EU

That it does!

I seem to be getting an absolute ribbing at work for ordering yellow. Seems I missed a joke somewhere but I thought it looked great in yellow and black and despite the pressure I won't be changing the order details.

I've had pressure for having such a sedate colour by going silver/grey or whatever Ford call it. But I don't want to have wash it every 5 minutes and if it looks not quite as muscle as it should some darker grey/black stripes will fix that nicely. :)

Styling on mine I shall just add larger wheels with 275 MPSS fronts and 305 MPSS rears along with maybe some CF Aero as found on Shelby/HPE along with some lowering springs. Subtle but aggressive and 700+ horses will back up those looks. :D

They're getting the 5.0L on the works lease scheme.. can't wait to see how much it will cost on there.. if it's in my price range I think when it comes to trading the Cooper S in.... might be my next car :D

Half way through my month long test drive of the new Mustang in the US and Canada;

So far I'm loving it and I'm certain a manual V8 convertible will eventually replace my 2005 manual V8 coupe Mustang.

It's a 2015 2.3L EcoBoost automatic convertible. I've no idea what optional extras it has but the spec is;

leather seats (nice and grippy)
bluetooth (works as expected)
usb (working great with our iPod)
cooling seats (working as well as can be expected in 35 degree heat, they do make a difference)
heated seats (working well for evenings and early morning driving)
touch screen display (works well as an infotainment screen, can be a split second slow at times)
reversing cameras (very handy)
xenons
led lighting
alloys
duel zone climate
and a few other bits and pieces.

Will you be doing this pretty much straight after you have taken delivery of the car? :D

Things I shall probably do immediately are exhaust system and springs/roll bars.

The wheels and supercharger shall wait 3-12 months, just to ensure the car has no gremlins. Exhaust and springs won't effect warranty, but doubling the engines output could be problematic for warranty claims. But we shall find out but I shall be going with Ford official kit that has being available in the US for well over a year so if there are issues other people have already being the guinea pigs.

I can't see any issues with reliability, its a completely forged engine and people in the USA are running 800-1000BHP on it without issue, I shall go with the 750BHP kit from Ford but with a larger pulley to start with so 650-700BHP as sometimes you can actually have too much power and in our colder climate where power is higher and grip is lower going the lower state of engine tune is better for drivability. :)

Start low, because if I ever need more a pulley change is a 10 minute job and cost less than £50. :)

The 5 Litre V8 put's out 299 g/km of CO2 which means on a company car scheme the tax costs are going to be very high - 37% of P11d value of the car which is £36,840.
Which means, if you're in the 20% income tax bracket (earning between £0 to £31,785) you will be paying about £2700 tax per year. If you're in the 40% income bracket then double that.

Good luck :D

thats £2700 on a company car scheme too right now just in general!?

Think any dealer pre-orders have gone and it is down to individual orders now only. If you want an early 2015 car you will likely have to wait until someone has it delivered and buy it from them at premium as is likely to happen.

On a different note I got my letter from Ford UK advising that production has now started in Flat Rock, Michigan on the RHD cars and that due to a requirement to change the manifold to fit the RHD steering column the power will be dropping by 5PS. You would have thought they had that tested prior to going into production but it will make little difference in the real world I think.

Still a long wait for my car however and I already cannot wait!

Hi there

Euro/UK cars are actually looking pretty nice:

That is with UK silver/nickel wheels and chrome window surrounds, looks very clean. It is a shame they lost the bonnet vents though.

My only complaint with the looks of the new Mustang is the horizontal line of the bonnet. I appreciate that it's there to accommodate pedestrian safety stuff but it just looks wrong to me. If the bonnet was angled down a bit it would look so much better.
