Ford Mustang to be released in EU

Ordered mine at beginning of August (9th) and I have a provisional build date of May 2016 and delivery for September 2016.

I believe everything they are quoting now is Q4 2016. Its 12 weeks from build to arrival in the UK so its a long process anyway!

I really do like the new Mustang, but over a year to wait? That would be a deal breaker (although means to buy one is a far bigger deal breaker at the moment!) for me - who knows how circumstances might have changed over a year down the line.

I still think it's hilarious that they are limiting UK supply so much when I could walk into the local Ford dealer here and pick from dozens of 2016 Mustangs sat in stock and available to drive away the same day!

I like the fact they are, good for UK used values. :)

I have seen dozens and dozens of them so far but every single one has had a rental company barcode. Does anyone actually buy these cars for themselves?

Was looking at one today when I took my DCT failed Focus in to get repaired. For a moment I considered trading in my car to get one. (As I'm sick of auto-manual that actually seems to do everything to impede you lol).

I drove one for a day recently (The GT 50th Anniversary edition) and it was immense. Nice cabin quality, nice design inside and out and my only crit is that the steering rack was overly light, as well as the clutch.

The gearbox was amazing I felt.

Other than that I really liked how pokeable it is and the sound from the V8 whatever the rpm. So much strength. 430HP and 400lb/ft from an N/A can't be scoffed at

Good to hear.
The engine is very strong and with bolt-ons easy pumps out 500 horses na but I'll just strap a blower on mine and run circa 700 ;)

Not bad for the stock euro car, not gonna light the world on fire either when compared to stuff like the M4/GTR but it does sound nice. :)

Hi there

Ford have given me a build date of November, no exact day apart from that they were trying to pull it forward.

Based on that delivery is 12-16 weeks after build date so close to March and as such I am hoping for a March delivery so its on new registration.

They look like a lot of fun with a supercharger! :D

That whine! :D :D :D

what spec did you settle on in the end ?

Jesus, the auto box wipes nearly 7 mpg off the combined figure for the 2.3 Ecoboost.

What sort of crappy automatic box are Ford using?

A not very good one! :D

If they had a system as good as PDK or DCT I would have optioned it, but they do not so manual it is. Though I think most UK customers are selecting manuals with the V8's, even in the US many are which is very surprising.

But for 35k your not going to get a V8 sports car with cutting edge of everything, as they say you can't have your cake and eat it. ;)
