Ford Mustang to be released in EU

Finally!

Although Jaguar XE and Tesla Model 3 are also looking pretty tasty.

Nice to see more players with decent offerings in this more affordable price bracket.

Although I'm kind of interested to see how the second hand market pans out in the next few years.

I am either mistaken but Jaguar and Tesla do not cost sub £35,000 or even sub £40,000.

I don't think there is any other manufacturer offering a V8 Sports Coupe with this performance, features and exclusivity for under £35,000.

I am looking forward to mine, I will either love it like my old one or it shall be a short affair, but in early days second hand values will be hold quite well as Ford increased the price and availability is very limited for the first couple of years in UK. But once that period wears off second hand prices could tumble, a 3yr old car could easily be 18-22k but if we all had crystal balls we'd not be posting on the internet, we'd be living the dream. ;)

XE certainly, but he's referring to the Tesla Model 3 - not the S. It's meant to be a 3 series rival with something like 300-350hp and be £30-£35k or so. Which would certainly be interesting.

Think the Mustang GT might be my next car once they start hitting the end of the 2 & 3 year PCP/lease deals.

Last I checked they were both being designed to give the 3 series a run for it's money, so if they're not sub 35k they're going to flop anyway.

Guess in the context of a v8 mustang they are talking about the XE-S at £44k rather than the entry 200bhp petrol at £27k.

Customers have XEs now, it's a bit beyond the design stage. Funny really talking XE and Mustang. Both Callum designed cars :p

Moray has the upper hand at the moment with the Ford GT!

I went to view a Mustang today. It never fails to impress me in person and the interior is nicer than the equivalent 3 series in my opinion.

I'm really tempted by one of these, but I'd need to drive it first. Can't see that happening anytime soon plus Recaros don't seem to be an option on the UK ones atm.

Ideally as this is a base spec V8 GT, id like the next step up. However the Shelby conversion costs a just a bit too much, Id probably buy something German for 50k.

Well local dealer had a LHD model in for demo over the weekend so I popped down to have a look. Impressed with the internals and expected it to be a lot more plastic that it is. Having had a good look around and starting it up I put my deposit down to get a car for mid-end of next year.

Deposit is refundable until confirmation of order to factory so going to test drive on end of this year when they are over and can always change my mind.

Gone for triple yellow V8 fastback with all options ordered individually. I didn't go for the custom pack as didn't want the chrome surrounds or nickel wheels.

The Ford US site has the MY2016 configurator up and running if you want to check out the changes for the next MY put 17112 in for the zip code :)

You can also select the GT350 ($47,795 base) and the GT350R ($61,295 base, if you fancy all the bells and whistles plus carbon fibre wheels as standard) :D

My GT350R ;)

I like some of the things on the California pack but it clashes with the performance pack so you can't have both.

Dealer principle is a good friend of the guy down the road from me and apparently got his son one of the early shipments for the v8 (Nov? I think). Will definitely take a look when it arrives, big fan of them.

omg i need this car in my life! Gibbo when yours arrive?

Ford have informed me that it is now in their system with a build slot and they expect a build date soon. Once they get this the car will arrive typically 12-16 weeks after this date.

I expect December-March time, am in no rush at all as still need to sell 911, not even advertised it yet, but being offered £27,000 from a garage to buy it from me. :)

But ideally I am hoping for March next year, as I am off on Holiday to Taiwan next week, then Cyprus next month. Then get the new diff/final ratio in the BMW October and then work will be insane in busy season so hoping for early next year. Ford have now approved the Whipple supercharger kit as they now use this in the Shelby SuperSnake version rated at 750BHP, so I shall buy that supercharger kit along with some wheels, springs and roll bars. :D

Looking forward to the updates :D

It just looks so right in yellow and black! It's a shame that the front will look almost ruined by a numberplate over here :(

Never have i admired an American car so much. Well, since the classic Shelby GT 500 "Eleanor".

Just take front plate off, I did this and in 4yr of ownership never had a problem with the police, all they ever said is what a gorgeous car it was. :)
