Ford Mustang to be released in EU

Gotta say, i recently rented a convertible Mustang V6 with only a smidgen of miles on the clock.

It was the biggest pile of poop i've ever driven in a long time. Couldn't stand it. Any part of it.. It looked nice enough from the outside, but that's where the fun ended.

Horrible to drive, squeaky, built from the outside in.

I wouldn't get too excited fella's. It's a turd on wheels.

It's also a turd on wheels that first came out a DECADE ago.

The massive leaps forward in US cars have come far recently than that.

Looks to me like Ford are going all out on this Mustang, aero package, 6 piston front brakes and even the interior looks absolutely fantastic. Can see this being a seriously good handling car and a very quick track car too, the track is 70mm wider.

Good move on putting the screen deep inside the dash away from glare and bright sunlight. Also looks a lot neater than just plonking it on top the dash.

Sensible place for a screen, far better than the current fad of pretending the screen is a trendy tablet slapped on the top of the dash.

The closest thing I've seen to pricing is this (in Canadian Dollars):

A fully spec'ed Mustang GT comes to around Canadian $52,000 which is under £30,000 from a straight conversion but with import duties etc, I imagine it'll be closer to 40k, which isn't too bad.

I believe order books open tomorrow in the USA so we'll have a better idea of prices then.

With so many functions on them these days having them in line of sight is much more sensible. I agree that making them look like a tablet isn't ideal but having it higher up is much better.

I prefer them low down out of my sight to be honest. Can't be doing with these things raising out the dash blocking my view.

Hopefully Ford has done what Porsche do and that the instrument cluster displays simple stuff like directions from the SATNAV so you can simply glance down. :)

when i got my 330i a month ago the plan was to upgrade to an M3 when ive paid this off, no more, a mustang may finally be within my reach!

They have LCD displays within the instrument cluster from which you can access most of the information that are normally displayed on the main screen, so there's no need having the screen high on the dash.

Completely agree on the screen location. Down there where it's not distracting and is out of the glare is the best place for it. There is no reason for screens to be stuck up on the dash these days what with displays inside the instruments and HUDs being available.

Don't get me started on where I see a lot of people mount their TomToms.........
