Forgot how bad job searching was :(

I figure that modules should have first letter caps in their names surely? At least that is how my uni presents the names always and it makes sense to me to do it so that the actual name is clear

If that's how the modules are then cool, but you have put it as 'key subject areas', so it looked a bit odd to me :p

Well it's a mixture of actual module names, and subject areas that have multiple modules to them, and then just "business"

I can't think of any other way to list it, and to me the caps look OK ... but maybe I'm just used to it now lol

Meh, hope everyones luck has been getting a bit better, if not then keeping plugging away :)

I'm still at the new school job...its okay, just the pay is terrible in relation to my previous jobs...Hell, I was earning more when I was 16.

First day back today and my heads really not in the mood...I do wonder if I actually want to be in this industry at times :p

It just seems impossible to change careers and stay on a decent wage while doing so

A friend has started a job today with a company that I have worked with before, he mentioned my situation and they are keen to talk to me.
Could mean another job move for me!

Sadly mate it would seem that's the price one has to pay in order to better yourself. Think of it as an investment.

Indeed, aware of that :)

However, since losing my job in 2008, I've had one IT related job with good money, since then, i've just gone down and down and wonder if its worth it or not.

Currently working on stuff thats just silly, most issues are just simple user errors (ie not actually thining at all)...its just depressing now

Yet I cant for the life of me think of what I would actually love to do

Yep, user error and generic things like exchange additions, backup restores blah blah.

The interesting stuff comes when Projects kick off and you can work your way in there. Might be a little boring, but still, it's relatively enjoyable easy money.

Had some more interest from a place in Bristol today which seems good, decent wage but arse of a commute. Although saying that it's probably only half an hour extra on what I do now and it'd be sat on a train.

Also had a guy just call (and I missed it) from another agency saying he's just happened across my cv and wants to talk.

On a slightly related note in my current position have got a training course booked up for Feb all being well which should help things (if I pass the exams :p).

Good luck to all of you currently job hunting.

I left my job after receiving another offer, on paper looked great, but turned out rubbish (hated the work, didn't like my boss, co workers were a bit iffy) knew within a couple of weeks it wasn't for me. Thankfully I got a more suitable job, more money, for a larger company with great training and career prospects.

I had planned on moving out of my hometown but as many have already expressed, finding jobs is very difficut. I was lucky to be offered the one I have now, so I've got to count my blessings and stay put. Only a few days in and I already really like it.

Not trying to boast but just to remind people that good jobs will come, just got to keep an eye out.

Edit: It's also worth going to companies direct and checking out their website as well as simply e-mailing in your CV even if they're not strictly advertising. I've had real problems with recuitment agencies (why are they so phobic about e-mails? They used to keep ringing and ringing and ringing me leaving messages to call them back. One day I kept trying to return a agencies call, the agent in question was away from her desk all day and I had to wait until the next day to get in contact with her. All she said was she was too late in sending my cv to one of her clients and I had been unsucsessful. Couldn't leave that in a e-mail or voicmail? Of course not...)

I hate most agencies, far too inconsistant, will be interesting to see if the one today gets back to me after being quite forward in wanting to put me up for a role.

Dont need a welcome, been doing it for a fair few years now :o

In my last place it wasnt user error, it was things going wrong...here at the school its the teachers not using there head properly...Theres a difference :p

Congratulations to people who have had more interviews etc :)

very likely got a job just need to submit my proof of work tomorrow with them after speaking with the manager etc today.

Should start within a couple of weeks and i'm looking forward to it, it may only be a food service role, but for me any jobs better than no job.

Starting a new job on monday after a year off nothing cannot wait to get working again and as far away from that job centre as possible

I'm not sure whether to post this or not but:

It looks like i just got myself a new job! nearly double the salary of my current role and sounds likes its going to be right up my alley. I had 40 invitations to interviews within 3 days of putting my C.V up. Most was the usual garbage but this one stuck out and I am really excited!!!

Interview for a perm job next week. Hours are a bit odd, 11.30am to 8pm but I will see how it goes. :)

Nice one :)

Go to the interview, see what the job is all about...

What is the job title out of interest?

Well after there being absolutely no jobs about for the last month, I checked for new ones when I got back to work this week.. There was one there and I applied for it, they phoned me back straight away and I've got an interview next week! :D

Hope I get it as its about 15 miles closer to my home, less hours and £4k more per year than my current job! :)
