Formula E 2014/2015 season

Those kerbs need looking at, launching the car like that is dangerous.

Things I'm unsure of about FormulaE are the pitstops/car change, fan boost, and I didn't like the awful music.

Well... can't say I will be setting any early morning alarms to watch any more FE.

Pathetic track. Boring racing. Incredibly slow in all areas (they only got over 100mph at 1 point on the track, and the pit stop speed was comical). Horrible noise. And then to top it off moronic driving standards, awful track design (curbs) and horrifically lapse safety and marshalling.

Can't say I'm excited about FE.

just seen this mentioned on sky news and of course they had to have a dig about "but its not green though is it!!!!" must be a bit of paranoia floating around the sky offices that FE will take over F1 after its first race lol.

Well that's me done with that. That was one of the most boring, slow races I have ever seen. The drivel in the lead up to the race was painful to sit through. This series is about as green as a coal fired power station. 40 cars to cart around along with all the enregy to make them and the batteries. Can't see this series lasting for long.

Oh, forgot one thing. Prost is a total moron!!

Thought it was pretty good for first race, it needs a lot of tweaking.

Nice to see the stands full.

Circuit was rubbish, no where to overtake in the corners, far to narrow.
Nice wide straights but as the cars are so similar.

White writing on light blue back ground is not easy to read for the graphics.

Really need teams to develop own cars and not restrict updates to battery packs, hopefully rules will be tweaked for next year.

On shot cameras where nice, bit more please.
Off board cameras where all over the place, to zoomed in, not on the right cars and a fair few were out of focus.

The DJ annoyed me, are we meant to hear it as a background track or not, sometimes it was pretty loud, sometimes you couldn't hear it.

Oh and really need to decide who to support, without that it's missing that whole cheering/sad/happy thing.

And bad crash, what a Muppet.

And formula E website is down, loll

Also no put radio?

Prost. What a ****.

But yeah, they're needing a bit more oomph and better circuits. If not, I'd expect them to become a support race.

Think some people were expecting a bit too much on the opening race of a new series.

It needs to grab people if it's to survive. Most people aren't going to stick with it if it doesn't.

And grab me it has not. Its just all so slow. The appearance of the cars sets unrealistic expectations. Don't make them look like IndyCars yet race at the speed of Formula Fords. The big problem is the cars, which is the one thing they won't be changing any time soon.

If I want to watch cars doing 80mph on public roads I'd go stand by the M25.

At Knockhill some of the most entertaining racing of a BTCC weekend can be seen watching the 20mph karts next to the paddock. While they could be faster, the narrow streets did have the one advantage of making it look quicker much of the time - though the zoomed in trackside cameras did make it look like they were still behind the safety car.

Still, if this is the sort of track they'll be visiting most weeks it's going to struggle to make a second season. I like the odd street track in any racing series, but not when the track is straight, chicane, straight, chicane, odd 90-degree corner.

It's not going to happen due to a lack of FIA certification and the potential demeaning of the series much of the time, but this series needs the odd club track. Falkenberg would be awesome in one of these.

Its the disparity between appearance and speed. They look like they should be a lot quicker than they are. The panning camera down the start straight looked pathetic. Combined with the walking pace formation lap and comically slow pit limit it looked like a normal race being played at 0.5x speed :p.

A lot of the tracks are going to be temporary layouts like this. The only saving might be Long Beach and Monaco.
