*** Forum Update - Official Issues Thread - Please check the OP for known issues ***

While I'm using the New Posts page to open the various threads I'm interested in (Ctrl clicking on them) this thread preview tooltip keeps opening and getting in my way, is there any way to turn it off?

I’m seeing issues with this thread:

When I am at forums level, I can see it when it’s the most recently posted in thread under Networks & Internet Connectivity sub forum.

But if I click on the sub forum it’s not in the list. If I change the filters to ‘show ignored’ it appears. But I’ve checked and I’m not ignoring the thread.

Any ideas?

Are you ignoring the thread starter?

No. I checked that.

See:

Doesn’t appear:

Show ignored

It appears, but I’m not ignoring the thread or the thread starter. I have tried ignoring the thread and unignoring it and it doesn’t resolve it.

It’s the same on mobile and desktop.

Default blue theme is king

I'm reminded of when I took a new dev job at a small firm and the MD showed off their software I was going to be working on.

First impressions I got was it looked like something out of a Fisher Price catalogue with all the rainbow colours used.

He asked me what I thought and I mentioned that there might be a tad too many colours used, but also added that Microsoft spent millions on developing Windows, and that after much research, they ended up using blue as the main colour.

He ended up gradually changing the s/w to a mainly blue theme, and didn't sack me, thankfully! :p

Tweets/x.com posts are still broken, will edit and append to the post to illustrate:

Selecting the "Media" option from the menu:

Just pasting in the link directly:

Edit - here's the screenshot of what I selected:

And here's how it looks after posting - note the BB code has changed:

The middle example (just pasting the link) is kinda debatable I guess - should the default behaviour be a link or an embedded post?

But the third example just seems like a straight-up bug - the user is specifically selecting to paste in a link and to *not* embed the tweet/post, but the forum then overrides this and embeds the thing.

This can catch users out if the post had swearing in, or indeed if it was in the middle of a tweet thread and the post above it had swearing in (the forum software also includes the post above in the case of tweet threads too, when embedding).
