Forza 2 Demo - Feedback

How can you judge a games loading time when its loading from a HD and not a disk?

Indeed lol fogot about that, its something i had hoped they had improved on over PGR3. However some previous videos has showed the loading times to be pretty good also so i hope that is an indication things are better.

Hold the loading times comment untill the full game is out.

I think its fantastic the aa don't even bother me its smooth as butter and the gfx are way better than i thought.

I really struggled with the RX8, the M3 on the other hand was sublime, IS350 was a nice drive too. Intergra Type-R is easy to put in consistantly good times but feels like it lacks grunt against the competition... needs some goodies bolting on :D

Porka was a dream, as easy to drive as the class C cars (easier than the RX8 by miles) but with a nice bit of pace. Need to try more cars but I'm not allowed to play at the moment :(

I just had a quick blast in the Intergra and the TVR and absolutely love this game! :D Great fun, and the TVR was loads of fun to try and control. Will try and learn the course (having problems with last corner at the min) and get some LT's up!!

Well, jsut had a play for about 20 minutes, dunno what to say other than im disappointed. It got a lot of hype and looks amazing in the videos etc.

The handling is very wierd, car doesnt respond as you would expect, its very slow and lumpant to drive, even the GT cars dont feel very sharp to drive. You get no real confidence to throw it into a turn as you dont know what will happen.

The time penalty thing is very very stupid. You go to get a slipstream, get close and wham you get a penalty for not even touching the car........WTF!!! Next, you go to overtake a car on a turn, and they dont shift whatsoever and will happily force you clean into the gravel pit. Also, you will be in front of anotehr car, and low and behold he will drive straight into you as they dont come off the racing line. He will hit you and knock you off *** track then you get the time penalty for the stupid AI.

Games can pull off time penalties, but they need to have good AI etc to do it, unfortunately FM2 doesnt have that cleverness therefore time penalties are very ghey.

Dunno what to say really, i expected it to be fun tight racing, but its not, if you get into a tight scrap you end up with time penalties, if you go for a risky overtake around the outside they force you off the road on the exit and when you try to race properly with clean overtakes you cant do it either due to stupid AI.

I dont know what to say, if it was GT HD for the 360 i would have been extremely pleased. I wasnt expecting a sim (frankly nothing has beat Live for Speed IMO), but certainly something fun to play i was expecting. Personally i find racing around in test drive unlimited more fun. Ill definately buy this, ive wanted it for ages, but to be honest i cant see me playing it much.

I was really hoping the 360 would do a good fun racing game after PGR3, but F1 and GT HD on the PS3 have mroe of a fun factor. Frankly i think it feels a bit like PGR3.

Very disappopinted TBH.

Well, I have just been sampling all the cars, and what can I say... the game is sublime. Everything feels right to me. The graphics are perfectly acceptable, the framerate is silky smooth, the audio is fantastic, the handling of each different car is how you would think they should be.

Absolutely fantastic.

Why would you buy it if you didnt find it fun to play? Just curious.

Out of hope that you can tune you cars yourself to make them handle/respond better. Also i want to hear the carrera GT :p

I will rarely not buy a game because I dont like a demo, and this game is one that i want to enjoy playing. Hopefully in the full game you will be able to turn time penalties off, which IMO will make it more fun.

Just had a quick go at it and I'm absolutely rubbish :D
Looks very nice though and sounds great.
Any tips for a complete driving noob? I'm using wheel btw.

What other racing games do you play?

This demo really confirms that PC sim racing is miles ahead of consoles

I wasn't aware FM2 was a sim? Sure it's a little more realistic that PGR3 but a sim it certainly isn't.

If it was, where are the mechanical problems during races etc etc (other than from crash damage)

Better tell that to Turn 10 then

Hello car lovers and racing fans! Thanks for dropping by Forzamotorsport.net, the online home of Forza Motorsport 2, the complete racing simulator for the Xbox 360.

I thought you could 'carry on' after the race and do as many laps as you wanted... When I finish the race, It just comes up with the menu to 'retry, watch replay or continue'... am I missing something?
