agreed I can't beleive some people can discount a really good game just b-cos it does'nt have a restricted cockpit veiw, it's a nice gimmick but a gimmick is all it is tbh.

As much as its nice to think "Ooh i'm in the car" cockpit mode is very unpractical, really doesn't appeal to me, you get no sense of realism from having the dash plonked infront of you, simulating driving is much easier than simulating feeling like you're in the car & viewing what you'd see in the car, if that makes sense

All cockpit view does it restrict views to the point where you're clattering people when playing online and getting a "bumper" reputation

The game is about going fast.I'll bet none of the quick guys in the leaderboards would go near an in-car view.

If the game had 30 cars then maybe it could be expected.

After giving the demo a fair crack of the whip last night,, i have to say, its not bad at all, the only prob i have is , i just cant get into the racing game genre at all, after the initial buzz has worn off, going round and round a track, is just well going round and round

After downloading the Demo on thursday and playing it on/off since, I can safely say I am pleased I have Pre-Ordered the LCE version. I know I'm not going to be one of the best racers on it but the fact that you can modify all your cars and paint them to your own designs make the game more lasting in my opinion. I think you will have various type of 'car nuts' buying it.

1. Pure racers
2. Racers and modifiers
3. Modifiers and designers
to class just a few.....

Let's face it what other game allows you to modify cars to your requirements and designs as much as this one will??

Yeah ive already got 4 cars planned out for a paint job and although im no artist i will make a decent attempt at them.

It just adds to the car/ownership factor you feel you have bought and modified something more of your own, well as much as you can in a game.

Ok, im really wanting to hear your views on it and to see if you find it perhaps trickier, maybe slower or no different. Personally i dont think its any faster or slower yet has its own advantages and disadvantages but it takes a bit of getting used too however going back to the pad then feels so poor in comparison.

With the wheel you feel much more attached to the game, the handling and feel from the physics is superb, they really have done the wheel justice. I just wish for a stronger rumble effect from the bumps and rumble strips.

Still waiting for my 360 to come back from the MS repair shop so still not played the demo on my wheel!!

but i was wondering, and forgive me for not knowing, how far can u take the custome paint jobs for your cars? I mean is it a case of putting on pre made decals where you want, or can you , if the mood takes you, put your fave bands logo down the side and a picture of your baby on the bonnet? I would assume its lies somewhere in the middle so would love to know! cheers

I can't wait to turn my pretty little Lambo in to a 'Halford's stick-on special'.

And I dare say I'll finally have to brave the weird world of X Box Live so I can lay down some serious punishment at Road Atlanta and 'The Ring'.

One question though. I've done a lot of searching but can't find an answer to this. How many ai opponents will there be in single player?

I kinda suspected as much. Thanks for the reply.

I understand that years ago the excuse for limited ai opponents was lack of processing power (not that it ever seemed to stop the old F1 games), so what's the excuse now?

We get all these exotic motors to race against, but can only have 8 on track at any one time. It makes me sad, but maybe it's just me being a bit weird!
