Forza 2 Demo - Feedback

We get all these exotic motors to race against, but can only have 8 on track at any one time. It makes me sad, but maybe it's just me being a bit weird! :D

It's not NASCAR. : )

:( I kinda suspected as much. Thanks for the reply.

I understand that years ago the excuse for limited ai opponents was lack of processing power (not that it ever seemed to stop the old F1 games), so what's the excuse now?

They did have it set to 12 cars on track but they couldn't keep the frame rate at a steady 60, so we are stuck with 8 :(

Jealous now, wait to you read the review!

Guys whats the best free image hosting service, the review will contain loads of photos. I plan on giving a full detailed report, ok well better than what ive seen from current www. so called reviews.

Need a quick answer to get working on it...

shouldn't you be facing the screen when driving ?

Perhaps this is why "real racers" aren't fussed with the jaggies on Forza 2 lol !

Ah, the wonders of 'Next-Gen' power. And we all fell for the hype yet again.

Loving Mr Latte's set-up in that pic. I Just hope he's good at racing games though, or he'll look a plonker. However judging by the orientation of the chair in that photo, the omens aren't good... :D

I appreciate this isnt a quick answer, but, if you put the review together as either a website or a PDF your more than welcome to stick it on my website and use links off it anywhere you please. www.dreederuk.com/reviews.html

Just had a play with the wheel.

First impressions were that it isn't as well made as my momo, the clamp isn't as good either. It doesn't affect the enjoyment though as the wheel didn't move at all.

I would have liked the FF effect to be a little stronger in the Forza2 demo though.

I'll try and get some fast laps in with it but overall i'm well chuffed with it.Like MrLatte says it adds loads to the enjoyment when using a wheel.

Been playing this demo for the last week or so off and on.

Really getting into it over time, much prefer the feel of it to PGR3, certainly a lot harder to control the cars at speed too.

Think I will have to buy it, the interface is excellent too, menu system, music (lots of bloc party and prodigy which i like) - very slick.

The damage makes it a lot more fun too.

I was amazed to see the cars actually show some damage. I thought the manufacturers got a bit sweaty about that in console games, for whatever reason.

But we need more. After all I tried slamming a Porsche, which was traveling at "some mph" in to the path of numerous other high speed vehicles. The end result was only the rear wing dropping off accompanied by a gentle spin in to the barriers. I was slightly disappointed by that.

Still... Roll on release day!

Agreed. I hope the full game has more damage. Like if you run into the back of the car in front then your radiator gets leaks in it ;) and then your engine over heats...

I find the braking when using a control pad sucks. You can only pull the trigger very slightly or it brakes too hard/locks up :(

Not very analogue (is that the right word?)

Damage like that, that would affect the engine etc has been disabled on the demo :)

When i first started i would have agree'd, but after some practice thats not the case, you can do about 1/2 brake before anything locks up and its very easy now, just takes practice, also dont forget in the full game you will be able to adjust the brake pressure :)

Taking the time to get used to the controls certainly makes the game more enjoyable. I'll definitely be picking this up, as soon as I can afford to.

Well after the thread I started HERE and after finding out that you can download demos with a sliver X-Box live account  I downloaded this and I cant say I'm overjoyed with it.

To be fair Gran Turismo 3 aside I've never been a massive fan of these super serious racing game's they just seem like sooo much hard work when games are meant to be fun but because I was literally addicted to GT3 I thought I may like this but the learning curve is just so harsh that rather than having fun playing it I'm putting my fist through the wall

GT3 was a long time ago but someone reassure me that it wasn't as hard as this to grasp because it didn't seem like I played the demo an excessive amount of times before I was addicted
