Forza 2 Demo - Feedback

Perhaps it's just too realistic
Don't you think that a representation of real life driving on a games console, should be designed to take into account the inherent limitations of using a gamepad though. In other words it should be as easy to drive with the pad as it would be in real life. When you drive in real life, the actual mechanics of driving happen unconsciously and are second nature. If you have to make a conscious effort to use extreme care with brakes and steering on a pad then something isn't right. I know that's how Forza 1 was.

why not, lol, its only a game, if they didn't want you to look from chase view then why put it in, anyway the view from inside would be the same just you'll be looking at the car infront (if your not infront)
I think most driving sim players would agree that driving from chase view is harder.

Whats a better gamepad with more travel to it. I think it would make a difference.

Can the demo be adjusted with all those little gauges they were showing, g force etc

If it can, can it show gt style brake and power bars. If it wasnt for those I too would have been slamming on the brakes - I only used the buttons mostly but it was enough.

How does the tvr pull off on full power, much wheel spin / oversteer?

I'm glad I've got him on ignore tbh. No doubt it's:

1) Oh I'm so glad I've not bought a seat - which would never of been mentioned if Latte hadn't ordered one.

2) The tire noise sucks

3) Handling is rubbish

4) Why even release it

Just about spot on :D

I just tried the 550 Maranello, a car I know well from GTR2, in GTR2 you can attack the braking zones, really apply full brakes to really slow down fast, then ease of the brakes as the tyres begin to lock, get back on the power and take the corner.

In FM2 you apply full brakes, instantly lock up and slide off the racing line....no matter what speed you are doing, the tyres lock, unbelievable.

the bonnet view is disgusting, in fact there is no good view, think I will have to use the bumper view which seems the least horrible looking as you cant see any of your car :D
That's how racing games are meant to be played, if you're any good that is.

lol, why has FM.net forums stopped new users signing up, are they expecting loads of complaints!

Er it was stopped ages ago as people were just signing up to ask about the demo.

Didn't they suspend new signups a good few days or even weeks ago because they were just constantly getting spammed with "wheres the demo!"?

deffo sounds like you need to put ABS on............noob :p

Looks, feels and sounds superb. I'm happy with it :)

Just a shame they only included one track, I would have happily scarified a few cars for that.

I see that the Forza 2 hostility still seems to be apparent however...

Think I'll be buying this!

Had a quick go in the Integra with all driving aids on. Then took them off which felt pretty hard but soon got used to it. Was feeling brave so I selected one of the higher class monsters and turned aids off.

Big mistake lol!

At the start I just pulled off an enormous wheel spin and spun around. When I finally managed to get the car on the track I came into the first corner and slammed the brakes hard. Weeeeeee!!! Round and off I go again! By the end I was getting the hang of it. I found applying the slightest amount of pressue on the brake worked ok.

Definitly a game you'll have to put some practice into.

gtr2 or rfactor, name your sim and lets see who is the noob....

don't think my crappy laptop would play either :)

on the other hand, you could always buy me a nice spec pc so i can kick yer ass

forza 1 was the same, almost impossible to play without abs on

I managed a quick blast before I left for work. Seems pretty nice but I'll need to get used to the way the car handles. The graphics seem pretty good but a shame about the jaggies, hopefully they will get sorted out.

I think at the moment I'm too used to playing PGR3 and it feel very different to that, when I've got the hang of things I'll decide if it's a game I'll buy or not.
