FORZA 3 - Time Trial

I've just tried the wheel (awful piece of crap, even compared to my old Momo) and managed a 1:05.273.

Thats only after a few laps (well....23) and i'm still getting used to using the clutch.

If the OP wants to keeps things level then disgard that time and tell everyone to use a pad, thats fine by me.

I reckon that could make a fair difference to my time if I could pull it off. You must be able to get a very clean line all the way from Luffield down to the line and on to Copse to be going that speed.

A little tip for getting drive is instead of just following the corner trying to balance grip/slide, when your near the end of the corner, straighten up a little, gas it and then turn more.
Doing this seems to load up the rears for traction and then when you turn again it doesn't kick out like it would've. (hard to explain in writing)

I kinda know what you mean, as sometimes I do that by accident and it helps! It's always more by luck than good judgement though!

Lap after lap after lap, slowly chipping away before i start getting slower, thinking "that's hell of a quick lap". Only to come back on here and find i-bert's gone a second quicker:eek:

Back to the track.:)

Was all set to have a try when some friends came online and ended up playing Tdu2 all evening. Good times.

Update - Had a very quick go this morning and got this time on my first flying lap...

Not bad for a first go I think, although I know I can do better as I'm losing a bit of speed on the final turn and on the very first corner when the back is sliding out. Using a pad, no assists (except ABS - although I don't consider that an "assist" as such as most cars come with it and unlike TC you can't switch it off and therefore it defines the handling characteristics of the car) , manual gears.

Well I cannot for the life of me better my time.. I will update the OP with the current times and if its alright with everyone, start a new challenge?

I was thinking along the lines of using one car from every class on the same track or if people want to change the track we can do.. Suggestions. I would randomly choose a car to use.

1:07.163 in the end.

Started playing with the clutch and I was passing my ghost on the straights easily plus going from 107s over the line to 110-111. Improved by half a sec in only 3 laps using clutch whilst never really getting a good lap - that was all increased straight line speed. Interesting!

Shall we do a different course? What about Mugello airfield full? Something high end this time? A or S class perhaps? AWD? Audi or Lamborghini perhaps?

Worth a new thread perhaps?

Reaper are you ok to do some tunes for us? If I choose a car and track could you possibly tune it for us and state what upgrades etc need adding? I think i-bert suggestion is a good one.

I am rubbish at tuning. I wouldn't know where to start. Have you got a beginners guide?

I appreciate I've come into this late, however...

1:10.395, no assists, manual gears, full line, using a pad. First time racing without ABS and with manual gears, and it's a tail happy little thing, isn't it?!
