Forza 5 Announced

Do tell, I haven't been following forza. Is it along the lines of taking content out and selling back to the customer as dlc?

Yeah, pretty much.

And their game mechanic sounds like you have to grind to get the good cars, although they are nice enough to give you the option to buy tokens.;)

Plus the fact that I can't use my Forza branded Fanatec setup.

Don't get me wrong, I had an XBO on pre-order, and I've been thinking about trying to hunt one down this weekend, but I'm voting with my wallet and hoping Forza 6 has more content from the off.

Best thing you can do, Ive always been envious of Forza but Forza 5 just looks like it would put me off the series than love it. Im not a fan of nickel and diming, just feel like an idiot for accepting something like that...

ps3ud0

Might be a silly question but does Forza offer any off road driving i.e. rally cars? I got it with the system and am tempted to play it rather than sell on the code but if its all track driving I might find it dull. The last more serious driving game I played was metropollis street racer on the dreamcast, which I did enjoy. :)

Dannyboy it sounds to me like NFS Rivals would be right up your alley. Unfortunately it is all track driving. Although online they have a section called 'playground games', where you can play 'tag', 'cat and mouse' and anything else they might've added into Forza 5...which is a lot of fun and a change from the usual. A new addition to Forza is F1!

My initial thoughts after about 30mins:
Sound seems a lot better and graphics don't seem to be like some of the videos were making out, it's pretty impressive. I thought there was a better sense of speed but that's difficult to quantify. I like the F1 & Indy cars.

On the downside, going to get bored of this number of tracks very soon. I'm not worried about the lower car count as you don't need most of them, but it seems ridiculous that there are less circuits than the previous game and is a real shame. With this in mind, in many ways this probably is the weakest Forza release after the bar was set so high previously. Hopefully further releases will improve upon it, but when you look at things like the £40 charge for upcoming car packs, you wonder how they might deliver it.

As well as car pack there also seems to be an expansion pack coming in...obviously it's going to cost but the pack could be bringing in extra tracks!

Quite like it.

Was a bit scared, but seems to handle well with aids turned off.
Like the idea of drivatar, interesting seeing friends names in my single player races :)

Had an hour or so this afternoon, and I'm finding it a lot more fun compared to Forza 4 which was tedious. Don't know if it's the Drivatars or what. Also it's one of the only games in which I'm finding it comfortable to use the cockpit view, usually I have to use bumper/bonnet cam, but F5's cockpit for some reason feel very intuitive.

Lack of tracks may be an issue in the long run, but for the time being I think it's brilliant.

Anyone want to add me, DreederOcUK, current only got a few Rivals in friends list to play against.... CocoPops being one of them. ;)

A quick question if I may as I've not bought a Forza before - how complex is the livery editor? Specifically, could I make the Megane RS250 in the game look more like my real-life RS265? (which looks like this - black alloys with red rims, red stripes down the sides, front and on the rear diffuser, red brake calipers etc) Can you customise the wheel design or just paint layers on the bodywork?

Really liking the game so far, even though mine is taking an age to install.

The AI is now much better, I'm having them make daring moves down my inside into corners, slide wide on their way out, and generally give me a good race. Huge improvement over 4 which were always about half a lap behind after two or three laps.

What's happened to the crowd?!

This is legit.

Just been watching gameplay vids and that is what the crowd is like, 2D sprites that dont move apart from the occasional flag/banner moving.

Pretty disgusting IMO considering the early footage they released had 3D models that moved.

Sprites! What is this 1994 ffs?!?
