Would be nice if we had a car list of some sort, even a small amount of announced cars to wet our appetites.

So far I know is a Jag XKR and the Top gear track from one of the gameplay vids I've seen.

As long as we have the usual favourites, R34, Supra, GTR, some super cars, some normal cars such as a Fiesta, Who doesn't want a fiesta with a RS engine swap, Clutching at straws with this one, the Ford Country Squire I absolutely loved drifting that car on Forza 4 on that long Japanese mountain course, soooooo much fun.

I like it how they say a 970/290x is recommended for 1080p@60fps, then add a 980ti/FuryX is ideal for 4k@60fps, WHAT, ideal haha. The step from 1080p@60fps to 4k@60fps is HUGE!!!! yet the step from 290X to a FuryX is certainly no where near huge IMO. Yes a better card, but hardly worthy of running a game at 4k@60fps. I even doubt the beast that is the 980ti wont get anywhere near 60fps at 4k unless you turn every setting down to low or off lol.

Still, I'm really pumped to see my favourite racer of all time come to PC. Lets iron everything out and nail it on PC for the release of Forza 7, that's mouth watering for sure.
Yea, that makes no sense at all.

Nor does it make sense that you need a GTX970, i7 and 12GB of RAM just to get the same performance that an XB1 does.

Then again, stated minimum/recommended requirements for most games these days dont make much sense and seem more like rough guesses at the best of times.

And I'm with you on being really excited about Forza on PC. I'm just not super excited about it being done like this. Especially debuting without wheel support, huge amount and variety of content or all of the multitudes of features that makes Forza such an appealing franchise for people of all types. I know this is just a taste tester sort of thing, but I feel like they are going to fail to capture a ton of excitement about it since they're stripping away much of what makes Forza Motorsport so awesome, and so will be a poor barometer of how well future games will do. I know they've committed to saying they'll do future FM games on PC, but they aren't contractually obligated and can change their mind. Or they can simply make it a very minimum effort affair.

I really think they should have just gone full out and done a proper FM6 version for PC and then charged full price for it. I'd have been beyond happy with that.

Couldnt agree more with that whole statement seanspeed, I hate the way it's being done, I'm not really blown away by this free version either, especially on Windows store and being free. It's like a bullseye moment, it's almost a tease of what we could get but put together in a way that it's actually not a patch on what Forza Motorsport is at the core.

What I am excited though, is finally a Forza title is on Windows, we know from the Dev kits that Forza has been shown off being played on a PC's at E3. So the game can be done for PC no question. Forza 7 could be very interesting, just think of the cross platform potential.

Definitely man, I love Forza Motorsport and simply want to see it flourish on PC like it deserves to. I regularly see people come into sim racing community forums/threads and ask 'what is most like Forza/GT on PC?' and there's honestly no good answer.

Forza Motorsport may not compete with the hardcore PC sims in terms of physics(which will always be their forte), but it can damn well provide an insane amount of content, variety, features and presentation levels that these dedicated PC sims cant touch simply because of limited team sizes and resources. I love motorsports and hardcore racing sims deeply, but I'm also a huge car fan and love the car collection/porn aspect of Forza Motorsport. The customization with actual mechanical upgrades but also aesthetically with paint jobs and Autovista and photo mode and all is just dream material for car lovers.

The multiplayer and class system is also incredible as it tends to promote a ton of variety in multiplayer racing within a given class. I love racing a slightly modified Ferrari 355 against a heavily modified Mazda MX-5, Subaru WRX and so on. It's not super realistic, but so what? It's great fun.

I don't really know what you guys were expecting from a beta of a free game?

The simple fact there will officially be a Forza game on PC is something to be happy about, regardless of how unhappy you are about the actual content.

It's Forza. It's on PC. The gates are open, the potential is there, the future is looking good.

So? Everything MS is going that way.

Even more so now that consoles use 'normal' processors etc. The problem is devs wanting to avoid cannibalising console sales by releasing a PC version, as there is more money in consoles.
