Yes, finally. An adaptation of Asimov's greatest story, and possibly one of the greatest sci-fi stories ever to be put onto paper.

As excited about this as I am, I really want to see a series based on the Elijah Bailey/R. Daneel Olivaw books.

This. I love Foundation but I don't think it'll be good as a TV show, the above series would work much better imo

But does it follow the storyline in the books? From what I've read about it, no and they've altered the characters. Emperor Cleon? Not anymore. Artistic licence is one thing, but complete changes are another.
To be honest, I can't imagine many of those scenes in the books and I read them every few years.

It may be Apple TV but £4.99 for a months subs to watch this sounds like good value to me. Or if not done, the 7 day free trial.

Also, when I saw this thread yesterday I thought that was ITV + and thought "that'll be crap" :D

Can't tell if I like the look of that trailer or not, as someone who hasn't an idea of what's in the books, the trailer alone doesn't make me really want to see it.

However, i'll pretty much watch anything with Jared Harris or Lee Pace so i'll check it out.

I think this could be quite a challenge. It is often difficult to do justice to books. Has been done well in the past though eg Lord of the Rings

OK, those visuals just blew me away. It looks like they've absolutely nailed an old school sci-fi style.

+1 for Harris. I'd give it another +1 if they'd also used Gyllenhaal, this series would be perfect for him.
