Foundation - TV Series (2021)

Very slick looking show for sure
Reminds ne of I, Robot: borrowed the name and completely rewrote the story so it bears no resemblance to what Asimov wrote. Doesn't make it a bad show necessarily but why not just give it an original name to start with? Guess its studios risk averseness again go with an established name/IP to pull people in even if they've never read the books its enough to draw people in. Oh well maybe some day someone wil make a film of the book and not just in name only.

Yeah but the books themselves are all over the place and the universe itself was written in odd ball way. Took me a couple of attempts at getting into it as well.

Episode 2 was a struggle for me because of above issues :p
The 2 "washing machine salesmen" became a religious thing, ok that's fine...
It's a slow episode.
It was a terrible episode. So boring and frankly badly made. The misses had no clue what I was watching but she looked up from her phone and even said, what are you watching it sounds awful..
This particular episode was a very bad advertisement for what seemed like a great season 1

Episode 2 seems to be trying to do a lot of establishing for future development but not doing a great job of it. I wasn't put off by it but I hope it is a low point and not the quality of the rest of the season.

Episode 3

Story progression. I liked it, a lot of more "cool stuff."
Everyone learned to swear like sailors too.... :/
(and sexy nazi chix)
(and cringy over acting)

Episode 3 felt like it was going way off the rails and also felt like a corny/cringey new style Star Wars.

Edit: To add to the above. I really enjoy the Empire parts which feels like a proper gritty sci-fi drama, but all the efforts are then spoilt by the scenes like the clerics and the thief.

Released yesterday on AppleTV. Enjoyed Ep3 and could even deal with the "brotherhood" scenes. It's so far off-piste with what I remember of the books but that's ok. Production levels continue to be excellent.

You've lost me on the progression part. Aside from gaining a general I've no idea what's going on... Did Salvor and Gaal go into cryo for 100s of years last season, is it a common things for large expanse of time to pass or have I missed something. It Brother Day the Dawn from last season now? I'm quite lost at this point.

Yes the whole "problem" is that in the books, which are almost irrelevant bar names and places, none of the characters are really important compared to the overarching Progress of time.
They've had to make perpetual characters that we can relate to, but yeah it's confusing the crap out of the original stuff.
It's like some of the recent startrek stuff, it's just using the names and clout to make up a whole new thing.
I try and enjoy it for its style and a very occasional reference to the books which raises a smile rarely.

But yeah 1st acting jobs for so many of these people...it's like casualty, Holby city and Dr who failed auditions.

I'm enjoying this but the two young women are awful, struggling with some of the comedic stuff too. It just feels so out of place in contrast to the empire scenes.

I kinda enjoyed the first series but two episodes into the 2nd and I'm done. I'm just not enjoying it enough to continue and have found myself distracted while watching it to the point I no longer know what is happening. Time to walk away.

Well i am really enjoying it.

As said your never going to get the books working in a TV series. Your better going at it from based on the books kinda and yes it hard to get all the timeline jumping going, the books are even worse :) :)

Hint - Empire is not the ruler, its the 10000 year old android who has the real power
