Foundation - TV Series (2021)

What I don't get is how did Demerzel allow the entire imperial fleet to amass in one location? She's clearly far more aware of events offscreen so how can her programming possibly allow this to happen?

I didn't really like season one that much, it was ok but a bit disappointing. Season 2 was great in comparison as the pacing was much better, which helped the storyline to flow.

I've largely forgotten the books but this show didn't remind me them at all. Then I read how it was mostly different from the books. Kinda explained why it all seemed completely different.

The TV show looks spectacular. But it takes far too long getting anywhere. I like the characters and the acting. It's just king winded.

"I'm the left" was probably the best part of the show for me. But moments like that have been few.

Why does it have to?

It would be more honest to promote it not as foundation but call it something else. I think in the credits it says "based on". Which feels like small print.

There's been a litany of shows where they've changed the source material in a negative way.

For me Foundation is a very high quality show. There's no pandering or dumbing it down to appeal to a wider TV audience as many shows so. The changes they've made are intelligent and complex. They went all in. I find it hard to criticise that level of commitment.

Might be because I read the books a long time ago, and found them interesting but they were never a favourite of mine.

Finished watching S2 recently. Boy that was slow. Only the last few episodes were good I felt.

Casting could be so much better. Jared Harris and Lee Pace carry the show imo.

Also love the special effects. But writing and casting should have been better imo.

That said, will still continue watching it.
