No I'm always 100% away from free postage as they don't offer it to us over in NI. Overclockers loss. I just bought my pc components elsewhere. They came in over £20 cheaper including delivery and it was with me 15 hours later. DPD charge the earth and then expect you to wait 2 days into the bargain. They're having a laugh.

Indeed, DPD are great to use whenever they are free, but for those of us that DPD class as not being in the UK, whilst still in the UK, they are an irritation.

Unfortunately many England based companies are now using DPD as they are very competitive, causing the companies to lose small markets as a result.

I tried ordering a tummytub from a company in England, turned out DPD wanted more to deliver it than the tub cost, yet the company could offer free delivery to England based customers. Went to John Lewis instead and they delivered for £3.

OcUK still gets some of my business, when the items are small enough or cheap enough to be posted, but when I factor in delivery cost of larger items, its cheaper and quicker to go elsewhere often. If delivery remained free, they'd probably have got £3000 more out of me in last 18 months.

sadly with these special offers OCUK are actually losing business when other websites undercut them 90% of the time.

I just saw the offer for the 912 plus black and hit buy and suddenly ocuk want £13 to post it to northern ireland, no chance it costs that money lads as i have posted several items back to you for RMA and refunds and every single time it cost around 30% less minimum for me using royal mail.

the fact you force me into taking 2 day when i clearly dont want that isnt working.im going to webnote you about this, and if you wont drop the price then you force me to go elsewhere to be honest :(

Pop your postcode in here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/delivery.php and it'll tell you. If it's the 2 day highlands service it's not free I'm afraid. You'd still be able to get free 1st class royal mail but thats for small low value items only.

This is bull. It explains why i can't get free shipping anymore even though i used to. We are not even in the Highlands and Islands!! This has lost OCUK over a grand in orders from me this year and i am sure i am not the only one. I can get free shipping from other places and still get it delivered quicker than i could with DPD.

I get free shipping depending on the weight/size of the item, things like the gpu's and hdd i recently bought were charged for shipping, smaller items such as cpu coolers, fans or cables were shipped free.

nice one, only 34 more posts to and I sincerely apologise in advance for the drivel i'll be posting over the next few days/weeks :)

Thanks settler that is actually very useful information as I all I had read was that NI didn't get free shipping at all so now, once I reach 100 posts, I will be able to get lower cost/low weight items delivered free. That is certainly something I will make use of as it is often these smaller cost items that have me heading to an autction site as the costs of buying from normal etailers is usually prohibitively expensive relative to the cost of the item being purchased.

The thing that I find most interesting is that OCUK use parcelforce for worldwide deliveries yet they will not offer this option to us in NI. If their main competitor is anything to go by where I got my recent set of purchases from then they can do £10 next day delivery with ParcelForce and this is still cheaper than DPD who then add insult to injury by only offering a 2 day delivery and Royal Mail who have the cheek to want to charge me £25 for next day delivery.

I'm in Lossiemouth (also not the Highlands), and don't qualify for free shipping. Sucks really.

It's not just OC though - many sites charge stupid prices to post to a 'highlands and islands' address - which mine isn't!

I hadn`t realised this had been withdrawn either until I was about to checkout an order.

I realise it`s the couriers that inflate the charges, but does anyone know which postcode areas have had the free shipping withdrawn? Is all of Scotland deemed to be "Highlands and Islands " by couriers now?

The free shipping was usually enough to get me to place all my orders here, but it looks like I`ll have to be looking elsewhere too. I`d probably rather have not had the free shipping, rather than having had it and then taken away.....:(

Does this work for Royal Mail Special Devliery? I'm looking to order something next week and would like it sent via Special Delivery since it's more likely to get here due to the DPD delays.

It's also £2.30 cheap than DPD.

If I order over the phone can I still get free postage?
Can I quote my username or something?

Thanks!
