Whilst I agree that more people will recognise Link as a character than Freeman, I can also guarantee that 90% of non gamers will call him Zelda!

I voted Freeman, though I've never played any of the games Link is in so don't really know anything about him other than "he's that weedy looking elf from Zelda".

Agreed, but either way all the remaining characters seem to be mutes with no personality, history, character interaction or charisma so i guess i'll join in as it doesn't seem any real character in my eyes will get a lookin. Voted Freeman, but frankly i feel bitter about the whole thing

But these are characters that exist ONLY within games?! Its not like Gordon Freeman was a child of a farmer in the deep south, whos mother died young, went on to study science and save the world from alien invasion, and later did enourmous work for charity before taking up a successfull career as a TV chatshow host?

These are characters that exist only within the games they are leads in, and therefore the games are the only judge of character we have. Therefore voting for a game, or voting for the character that the game revolves around is the same thing.

History lesson - quakeworld invented online gaming, not counterstrike. Even then cs is nothing to do with gordon as a hero, which is what we're voting on anyway.

Point is though, don't confuse gamers with people who have played Zelda. Of course, I have heard of Zelda but I have never played it. Therefore Link was unknown to me.

I didn't say that Counterstrike invented online gaming, but thank you for the history lesson. People can vote for whichever character they like, for whatever reason they like.

Why Link is rubbish: He isn't even the headline character in his games.

Show people a picture of Link and they will say "Cool! Zelda! He's so awesome!"

lol, the last 4 characters are all mutes.. well Mario speaks a little if you count' "waahooo" or "mamamia" speaking but he might as well be a mute.

I'm not. I don't like the games of Zelda that much, my vote was what I believed had the greater influence in gaming...

More people would still know who Zelda/Link is than Freeman. Freeman is only recognizable if you have seen the box art for HL2. He isn't even shown in the game.

This is pointless...

People can vote for whichever character they like, for whatever reason they like.

I voted for Freeman because I feel he packs a hundred times the amount of awesomeness that Link does. :cool:

I know. I am just saying that Link is more recognizable than Freeman.

Both characters are boring. I don't care what back story the creators of the game make up, its what those characters portray them selfs to be in the game. Thats why Snake should still be in this tourny.

There's plenty of mirrors and reflective surfaces in HL/HL2.
