French Open Tennis 2017

How much are they charging for tickets? Andy Murray is playing and the arena is only half full.

I might well be wrong but I seem to recall it's fairly typical for the French Open to be quieter in the early rounds and early in the day even if the matches look like they should be good and would be in high demand at other tournaments, as the tournament progresses I'd expect to see fewer empty seats. But maybe it is quieter than normal this year.

Unfortunately Murray has been broken already so he may well have to do it the hard way again but Edmund has had a decent couple of sets albeit he's won one and lost one - to be expected against someone who serves like Anderson though.

That stadium has all the corporate areas & seating at the front. If you look at the zoomed out pictures you'll see the upper tiers are pretty full. All the people who don't care about tennis and just do lunch only turn up for half of it :)

Unlike wimby, where the front seats are all given out in the ballots to members of the lta

Plus, as semi pro says, people do take their time to get there.

Del Potro's forehand must be as quick as Murray's first serve at the moment

Edit: Edmund wins the third set against Anderson 7-5 and leads 2-1 in sets.

Edit: First set to Murray 7-6.

Weird match so far, some very good tennis being played but it's not very exciting. Murray's serve is absolutely appalling but he's returning very well so I expect a lot of breaks over the next two, three or four sets and a lot of frustration.

Four more sets like that and we'll have a 7.5 hours match

Nadal could win every game and win the tournament in less time :D

Edit: Edmund loses the final set 6-4 and goes out 3-2. Murray's just won the second set 7-5.

That's a pity for Edmund but he performed well and it's always going to be tricky against someone like Anderson.

It's getting a bit interesting at the end of the second set of the Murray - Del Potro match with a successive breaks of serve.

//edit, yes, second set to Murray.

He's playing way more aggressive than I thought he would today. Constantly moving Del Potro side to side to wear him down and targeting his backhand whenever he can. Really impressive performance so he'll no doubt get stuffed in the next round*

*Please quote that SPW :p

Edit: Very little bitching to himself or to his corner today, something Courier picked up early in the match.

You're absolutely selfless with your predictions, very noble of you. :D

First time he's ever beaten Del Potro in straight sets and finished it off with a bagel, here's hoping that after a bit of a shaky start he's playing himself into some form. Really quite close to having two British men into the fourth round today.

Wozniacki playing exceptionally well this morning.

Edit: She won 2-1 and looked very good against Kuznetsova.

Edit: Nadal game finishes a few minutes after it started, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 :o

I know he's not been in good form but I didn't think it would be quite so tame a loss from Djokovic. It's kind of him to get off court fast though to ease the potential for fixture congestion after play was rained off yesterday though. :o

Nadal through with the retirement of his opponent too although I don't think it would have made much difference to the outcome either way.

Hope Murray plays well against Nishikori later.

These stupid bints need to be docked points for prolonged screeching. It's massively off putting to watch and even more distracting for the opponent when a screech lasts until they're hitting the ball back.

Edit: No chance Murray wins today :(

Edit: 6-2 first set, Murray's serve was taken to pieces with ridiculous ease.
