I am a fan of Kei and felt that he was somewhat eclipsed by 'The top four' when he was younger. His playing style is not what people consider particularly exciting or exotic on the surface and this imo often makes people overlook his incredible backhand, solid ground strokes and the way he often takes balls early to hit a winner off of good solid serves or returns with a lot of pressure. Everytime i watch him play a top opponent it surprises me how well rounded his game is and how good each part of it is, it shouldnt really considering his ranking and how long he has been up there
I am not watching the match atm as i am at work but considering who is playing, i wouldn't put the score down to weak serves but rather good returns and fluctuations in mentality
