Fritz Chess Benchmark/Super PI Thread 2010

Thanks mate, I wasn't sure if that was the case or not.

My Dominators are really sucky, I can't get them to overclock at all, so when I'm pushing past 200Bclk I have to lower the RAM multi to 6 which underclocks the RAM by quite a bit, which is obviously having an impact on my Super Pi results..

I think I'm gonna sell them on and get some 1866 or 2000MHz modules instead.

4ghz :D

bench4ghz.jpg

Super PI= 10.218
Fritz= 14545

Not sure if I've hit an FSB wall or a CPU clock speed wall, but dropping to 8x multi and trying to run 450MHz+ FSB is a no-go, no matter what voltages or GTL overrides I use.

Having one last crack at 9x 440~, but with increased GTL and CPU ref voltages.

Just waiting for Win7 to "attempt startup repair", not that it needs it, I just don't get USB voltage between BIOS and windows, so can't skip it

Well got no chance of seeing my phenom get over 10000 in fritz i got to 3.95Ghz and 9920 fritz score i cannot get any stabilty over 4ghz to get a full run on fritz despite spending nearly 8 hours at it today. Think core 4 of my chip is a bit of a slacker TBH i noticed that at 4Ghz IBT and fritz would push all cores to 100% then core 4 would suddenly go down to 30% then they would fail the test.

My mobo lets me tweak individual core percentages so gonna try dropping core 4 back a bit tonight.
I did just get my first 18k on 3d mark 06 tho which i was quite chuffed about

keep up the good work guys

just out of intrest i just ran the bench's again on xp instead of vista :)

same q6600 @ 3.3
PI - 16.110 compared to 15.978 on vista
FRITZ - 9032 compared to 7859 on vista
so it seems like fritz runs quite a bit faster on xp but pi runs slightly slower
maybe vista's higher overheads cause this ?

For some reason, running my RAM at anything other than 1600MHz stops my rig from posting.

I'm thinking it could be something to do with using the "xtreme memory profile" in the BIOS and making changes. I'll give it a test tomorrow night after work, seeing as the tests are so short I don't mind whacking up the voltage a bit to nail out a faster SuperPI time :)

Does anyone have an answer as to why the AMD processors are performing so badly in well, ALL these benchmarks?!!?

Better watch out tomorrow as well, I'm breaking out the Athlon 4400+ for a run!

I'm having similar issues eddie. I can't set my memory strap to 1066, only 800, which is drastically underclocking my 10666 (1333MHz) DDR3 :(

EDIT: Oooh, just found a voltage increaser hidden in the BIOS, gives the CPU an extra .3v... hmmm.
