From (TV Series)

I think season 3 is really slow going. It just feels like we should be ramping things up now, but it just feels frustratingly slow (and I say this as a massive fan of Lost).

Given the lack of progress I think the answer might be fairly simple. It's still entertaining but in a one and done kind of way.

I've been enjoying this season, i don't think it's slow at all. If anything i wish it'd been released all at once so i could've binged.

I mean the last episode they literally found ruins and walked back without investigating them, presumably because it would push the story on too much. Or Boyd one week saying we need to take chances and the very next week saying we shouldn't take risks. Characters not talking to each other, or acting in frustrating ways. The Wife going to the outside world and coming back seemingly making very little difference.

I just think three seasons in we should be getting a few proper revelations and story beats similar to Lost. I still like the show, but with all the questions they have posed I feel like we should be getting well into at least some of the mysteries by now.

I don't get what they were doing anyway? they were going somewhere, then they come across the spoiler and its we should go back?

yet wherever they were meant to be going was further, so what were they going to do get there and turn straight around again??

Also following that new police woman around was boring, she seems 2d

It's almost like they purposely go out of the way to avoid including anything interesting in the story

There was a point in season 2 where they were capturing the monster that I thought at least we'd get some solid answers about them, but we are kind of back at the beginning now. It's kind of like if Lost stayed in Season 1/early season 2 mode, well into it's third season. Bearing in mind there's only 10 episodes a season here, it shouldn't feel like it's spinning it's wheels. If all answers come in the last season, it's going to feel rushed. We need answers, which further bring up new story developments, progression IMO.

My only worry is we're not getting anything because the answer is really simple, so they can't give part of it away, which would be a shame if true. That would be at odds with all the questions they have posed though, unless the answer is something terrible like someone's dream/coma etc.

Apparently the original townsfolk sacrificed 7 children in a bid to gain immortaility. I think this is who the monsters are, they are ther immortal original townsfolk. Not everyone took part in the ritual and theres peopel saying that Tabitaha and Jade are reincarnations of two of the original townsfolk.

That would be ok I guess but hard to create any great wow moments now, with it all in the past. Perhaps if time travel was involved as there are a lot of monuments that arnt really explained; the village, the ruins from the last episode, the lighthouse etc.

Still it wouldnt really explain why the town is only cut off now, why the lighthouse with no sea, the tree warp points or bottles, where the motel went etc. I don't think id find simply a past sacrifice and magical repercussions too exciting tbh unless there are other elements /antagonists.

Do the above two spoiler posts relate to what's actually been shown up to episode 7? Or what meatloaf may of read?

I'd rather not spoil the remaining episodes?
They are apparently what happened in the last 2 - 3 episodes. Review copies of the episodes were sent out and one of the reviewers leaked everything with photos from the episodes. Easy to find by googling season 3 from spoilers
